Considering all the maintenance that has been completed (if it's recent and true), this is not 2 bad.

Is it weird that I’ve acquired most of my tools from just working on my Tundra for 20 years?

Just a quick search and there aren't many good FGT for sale but you can find something decent.

Facebook marketplace. If you search all of florida you can find some decent trucks in the northern half of florida, easier trip home. Line up a few along the route and take the best 1. I've done that a few times and it's always worked out :D

This is rough but it's still on the road going everyday, and it's cheap.

A first gen from IL? I'd spend an hour just studying the frame.

Got a new O2 sensor yesterday for the Element. Drove it around the block before I changed the oil today and the damn check engine light went away. I changed the sensor anyhow.

Interestingly it seems somebody had replaced the sensor before. They used a good Denso unit but little details were different. The plug was gray instead of blue, it had a thin sleeve where a clip goes rather than a thick band of rubber, and the hole pattern totally different. Both say Denso USA. New one is from Honda.

She wiggles. Unloaded, mild acceleration, semi-pedaling the trans into shifting early, and the nose started dancing. Kinda like gentle death wobble.

im thinking steering rack bushings, but have struts, shocks, and leafs off a fresh 3rd gen tacoma.

so where can i find a full bushing kit? Rock auto? Do they make a preferred toyota (pro trd) slightly stiffer kit? Are there beefier racks to be had? The more aftermarket parts i find, the less those parts match an ‘02. To build it, fabricobble a replacement, and glue some dampers in?

I loading it with 1000lbs of bs, and she did fine, just a bit through a 35 zone, came to a stop, and accelerated with a little more force, and drove the rest of the way home. 287 miles. 12.5 city (gently and heavy) 16.5 hwy (70-75 heavy) 100miles of city, 300 miles of hwy.

Total Chaos has a good kit that a lot of people go with. I'll be going this route when the time comes.

Good observation, I'm not sure. It is idling smoother now, hopefully it really was a bad sensor and not a bad cat.

Wait, did I miss something when I bought my 2000? Am I supposed to be waving at other Tundras like Jeepers wave at other Jeeps and bikers wave to other bikers?

I usually get this sort of wave from other drivers if I cut too closely in front to make a left hand turn into Dunkin Donuts.

    I don’t think it’s friendly though. o_O

Sounds like Grandpa was headed to the bingo parlor. He was motioning you to jump in and follow along for Grandpa 1st gen meet and fig newtons.

As long as no commie has come along and put goo inside or fruit anywhere adjacent, I love all donuts.

No, they usually inflate them with air. :D

We have a Donut King nearby as well that makes them the old fashioned way. Those suckers will hurt if someone throws them at your head though.

In the south we sometimes wave just for the sake of waving. Our friend from PA said she couldn't figure out why people are waving and saying hello to her when she visits.

There's a mom-n-pop bakery a block from work. I've gotten into the habit of stopping in there OMW to work most mornings.
2 chocolate-frosted cinnamon rolls (persians?) for $2.03 is an incredible deal for decent donuts. For the quality of donut I'm receiving, I feel like I'm stealing them.
