Tacoma door seal mold snapped a shoulder bolt that applies pressure to the mold plates.

    :yes::bananadance:

These little bastards are usually in the mold so long they sieze up in there. Doesn't matter how much penetrant you use, typically it will all smoke off before it can work. Pushing 400f on these.

Stopped and looked at an 04 DC 4WD.

Body looked good with all the frost on it.

I could see @Tundra2 driving down and getting his @Hooptytrix on in a shopping Spree. Noah making the 12 hour drive showing up in his Undies with a box of half eaten Ding Dongs in the Pass Seat. Hoopty looking at the scene and going all NY on him and telling him to straighten up.

Back a few months ago I picked up a brand new makita 18V drill off the clearance bin. Box was damaged and the battery and charger were missing, $35. I figured sooner or later I'll find a deal for the missing items. Well yesterday I found this monster high torque makita xwt04 with a 3.0 batt and charger in the clearance bin, $91.

I don't think spray coating in your area is necessarily a reason to pass if you are seriously looking for one... it's just a reason to be very careful with your inspection...if it was owned by someone who took very good care of it, it would never have had the frame replaced but would have had the coating in those areas if you get what I'm saying. The fact that it's been on that lot for 3 months would raise my suspicions as much as the frame coating. Three words come to mind..."fine tooth comb"...if one were serious about it.

Damn, you must have built up some good karma...that's somewhere between $400-500 worth of tools for $125...nice score!

I agree, but there is something weird going on in those pictures. It looks like they just spray painted over crusty-ness. Definitely worth a closer look like you said though.

Nahhhhh I say don't bother. Since we know our trucks are prone to rusting out, better off starting with something that has never seen snow and salty roads. That's just my .02

These are why I'd pass on this truck. Not even worth the trouble of wallerin around on the ground looking underneath it.

Rear frame rail seen from inside drivers side rear wheel well.

Drivers side upper control arm nut, and miscellaneous rusty engine bay fasteners.

Yea, that makes sense on that truck. My comment was more directed at the coating per se rather than that specific truck. It's hard to see details on my phone...I trust your eyes/hands on the scene better than my eyes on a phone...

Yeah, I meant to include that in that post that double posted.

I realize now that it sounds like I was dissing it because of the coating which wasn't the case. Coating just tells me that Toyota is done with that particular truck.

I was looking in them there holes. Cruffty.

Remember this post. I've recording a video right now, to see what it do.

Good point. I stopped and real briefly looked at this truck on the way home. It's pretty clean, frame had some surface rust. Has a bunch of miles. When they first put it on the lot it had a grill guard similar to yours that they removed for some reason. It looks like the front has been leveled out. Price seems a bit high.

You may be right. At least a year ago. Seems prices are sky high these days. That one you linked above was cheap but all the clear coat was gone.

Florida sun beats the hell out of the paint, very common to see paint issues. But I would rather deal with paint issues than rust issues. If you shop around in texas and florida, you can find some good clean trucks for decent money.

I checked into star link. Won't be available here until late '21, or early '22. I'd pay any amount to be rid of "modern" dial up. Papaw would call while I was trying to load a .jpg of titties and fuck everything up.

Nearest Verizon tower is 30 miles away.
Nearest Tmobile tower is 45 miles away.
Nearest ATT tower is 21 miles away.

No DSL provided locally. Trying out a satellite provider here soon.

I’ve heard that if you never file, they don’t know you exist.

Don’t know if it’s just a myth, but it would be nice to see someone test that theory.
