If you're talking about the add a leaf, the 1.5 is if your leaf springs are in brand newish condition which most aren't. I got right around 1.25 but that was leaving my overload leaf in.

Not sure what you mean by the factory clip, but I didn't have to cut anything.

Some unsolicited advice though, we've had a few people on here who weren't really happy with the add a leaf, me included, I eventually just bought new leaf springs for $500. If you can afford it, I'd skip the add a leaf and just get new leafs, I think at this point most of ours are worn out. If your leaf pack is in good condition though the add a leaf does what it's supposed to do.

I need to go in for mine. Toyota keeps sending me all kinds of notices in the mail, each time they disguise them differently.

Good to know. Off-season sales are the way to go, that's how I got all my riding gear and plan to get my snow gear when I get serious about doing that. Wait six months and you can get a helmet for $400 off MSRP or goggles half off if you're lucky. On the bike I keep a pair of clear lenses in my backpack if I'm out and it starts getting dark. The LED on my bike, the amber lens goggles, and any dust at night is terrible for vision.

It's not just millennials...I see it in people my age (Gen X), my parents age (Boomers) and my kids ages (Gen Z). Too much good life has created too many weak people, particularly in certain segments of the population. Society is obsessed with eliminating ALL danger and even more detrimentally, ALL struggle/adversity. Character is built, not upon people telling you how good you are just for existing....character is built by struggling through obstacles and coming out the other side and thereby attaining real confidence in your abilities to deal with adversity.

Case in point. My 10 YO rode his bike yesterday to a park about a mile away to meet his friends. He calls his Mom a few hours later asking her to pick him up because he hurt his leg jumping off something and can't ride his bike. I happened to be home early, so she asks me to go get him. I said "nope." He said he could walk, so I told her to tell him to walk the bike home. I gave him advise on just putting it in it's lowest gear and trying to ride it slowly home first. He was PISSED that I would not come get him. He made it home in about 10 minutes, so I know he was able to ride it home slowly cause he can't walk a bike that fast. He gets home and puts his bike away and he is still pissed at me and won't talk to me. I just ignore it. This lasts for an hour as he fake limps around the house. Finally, after he's done being pissy toward me, I tell him I'm proud of him making it home on his own when it wasn't easy. He, says thanks quietly, but I know him and he was really pleased to hear that. The rest of the night he was looking to get my attention in good ways.

It was a stupid little thing and it would have been easier for me to go get him and not deal with his stupid pouting. He would have been very thankful (a good trait of his), but he would have learned nothing about himself. We have too many people who don't know what strength they have and they have no desire to find out because they have been taught to eliminate adversity (or just do as they are told), not fight through it.

Thanks for feedback. There is a c shaped clip front and back of the factory springs that hold them together with a rivet. My 3 leaf AAL will interfere with the back clip. I think wheelers changed their design. I've emailed them and asked.

I'd be happy with 1.25 lift, with the overload. We'll see.

I've heard some of the complaints as well. For only $160 it's still worth a shot in my opinion. I could afford new springs but rather spend that money on something else.

    See my answer below...

This is good advice depending on the shape your truck is in. I think it's very dependent on the number of miles your truck has and how it was used. My truck had about 90K miles and it was a 1-owner "grandpa truck." It had no evidence of carrying significant loads or towing anything heavy/frequent. I used the AAL and got about 1.5 inches without my overload left in. I imagine if it was much higher miles or carried alot of weight/towed frequently my leaf springs would have been much more worn out. For me, it rides great and got the right amount of lift, so I saved quite a bit. I still plan on going to a full Leaf-pack if I ever get back to building out a camper setup, but for my particular scenario, the AAL worked perfectly....YMMV of course.

    TLDR version:

Lower miles and/or lightly used truck = AAL will probably work fine
Higher miles and/or more heavily used truck = just go right to new Leaf springs
If you are somewhere in between and money is tight = AAL and leave OLL is worth a shot.

Excellent! I agree a lot of the problems are parents raising weak spoiled kids. I like to take my kids on what I call "theodore roosevelt nature walks", also known as a hike. If they whine or complain, then next time we do a longer/harder hike. We got up to 6 miles last summer before the younger learned I was serious. Haha. True story. But overall they enjoy the hikes. I also make them walk to school both ways rain, snow or shine. Frequent reminders that life used to be a lot harder.

Nobody likes a whiner is common phrase in our house.

Thanks. I'm at 110k now. Bought it at 70k. Don't think it saw much abuse before I bought it. I occasionally tow and haul, but not excessively and not on a regular basis. So my guess is my springs are towards the good side of the spectrum. I'm going to give them an honest shot and hopefully save some money.

Its how I bought just about all my gear for snowboarding. There is a shop nearby called Boarders, they are one of the only places here that carry snowboard stuff year round. In 2017 I picked up my 32 Prion boots for $80 because they're the 2015 season style. They were 40% off.

I picked up a sweet Burton jacket for $65 and my wifes Volcom pants and Burton jacket were like 30-50% off because they were all from past seasons. All brand new, just didn't sell before. I love people who need this years models because they leave deals behind for me.

One of my boards was called a blemish, got it from The House website like 15% off, I don't see a blemish at all. My bindings were similar, discounted because it was from a past season.

We also scored gloves at Ross of all places. Who knew Ross carried DVS gloves for $8 a pair? I have seen decent pants there occasionally too but didn't need them.

Really the only things we didn't get deals on was our helmets and my wax kit. Oh and sox, those are cheap enough that I don't care about deals.

Not since the 90s but last time I bought work boots the store gave me a pair of white Wolverine socks. That almost counts. I have a few pairs of gray and some colored ones from wearing office shoes but no other white ones.

I've been wearing black socks almost exclusively since probably '96 because when I was in high school the dye from skate shoes would bleed onto white socks and turn them blue/green/brown. Nobody wants to walk around looking like they have moldy socks.

These pants look like something from a onsite promo or a mail in. When I was a kid, haha I remember saving upc labels from a pretzel brand that looked similar to these pants; but it was for a stupid die cast 18 wheeler with their logo on it.
