If I did one, I’d want to do the VW flip key fob. Our 4runner has that style of key you got, I think it’s bulky, and am glad I get to have the valet key on my ring. I like the smaller keys we get with our trucks, I wouldn’t mind a hardware cut on a thin key with no plastic.

    maybe even a classic toyota key;

My keys look like that, no plastic. I love it. I think I have the ones with the plastic in my safe somewhere. One of the things I did with my basic bitch key is drill a hole in the handle. Then I was able to pull an existing bolt or screw from somewhere on the the truck, slide the kit on and re-insert the bolt. Makes for a handy, secure, hidden spare in the event my dumb ass ever gets locked out of the truck in the middle of nowhere. I like to use a bolt or screw that is slotted, since I always have a knife on me that could be used to remove it.

I bought 2 of those high dolla Toy OEM blanks (edit*from Stealer) and had them cut at the Stealership. They were about $9 each. They are stury, thick, and the metal is stiff. Highly recco.

When I first got my truck, I went to the dealer so I could get an 'oem' toyota logo'd plastic key. Wasn't paying attention and had my mind elsewhere when taking the key, paying, and leaving the lot. Come to find out I paid $42 for a generic plastic top key WITH NO TOYOTA LOGO! I was furious. Damn stealerships

well. trucks at the body shop again. caps getting painted.

and the frame tweak is back... i may end up having to source a used frame.. the plate we welded in didnt seem to stop it from going back to the bent state.. likely from me towing with it that it went back. oh well.. if it gets a frame im out of the "ahead of buying a clean one". but at least if i do swap a frame it'll be a new truck...

The big box doesn’t have Toyota blanks or any generic blanks that replicate my key.

Stealership had the metal blank in my case. They didn’t have the plastic coated ones and stopped carrying them years ago per the person working there. It pays to pay attention.

    Measurements on a frame rack.

had it all perfect but after driving it for a few thousand miles the things tweaked again...

I can't find the post now but a few weeks ago someone posted pictures of a ceiling mounted gear net they bought from the 1st Gen Tundra Facebook group. I've been trying to join that damn group for 2 weeks now and they won't approve my request. I despise Facebook but it would be nice if they would approve me joining so I can look at that item.

On another note. My head unit arrived from Crutchfield. I took a chance on a scratch and dent unit. There isn't a scratch on this thing. Looks perfect.

As much as I'd like to help ya Erik, I don't do Facebook that often. It's usually to view things my DIL posts about my 4 yr old grandson or other things my wife shows me.

If that’s something you are really interested in, I would reach out to raingler nets. If you can give measurements of clips and handles, I bet they could make you a custom net or devider. I have two of their roof top cargo nets(4runner) and they are both built really well. And the guy is super easy to deal with and very helpful

Meh... Not very secure. I'm still planning on designing a nice overhead molle rack. I just need to get off my ass on that one. Honestly it should be easy. I have designed and prototyped hundreds of parts much more complex. The hardest part is just getting started haha.

Are we planning on hanging our undies out to dry from that clothes line apparatus?

I could fab up something with big box stuff to do the same thing for under $20. Its proprietary though.

Apparently I need to start checking the oil in the wife's Durango...and maybe pay attention to the mileage. Just did an oil change on it 13k on the oil which isn't huge but only 3 quarts came out when it takes 6. Whoops.

Who says I wouldn't sell? I'm also hoping to make them more of a laser and brake design. I'd rather not have to weld them at all.
Oh and buying a gun... I was tempted this week to buy a sig 365 at Cabela's. I'm holding off because it takes forever. I don't know how they can make a 5 minute process take 40+ minutes. Usually it's a simple 4473, look at my permit and license, call in the permit to make sure it's valid, and then we shoot the $hit for 5 more minutes.

So I'm hearing alot of noise in the front end when braking and turning. Wondering if I need to lube something. It's like a creeking/popping sound
