Oh. Good. I didn't realize with the "warning shot" that the user name got a dash through it.

I thought that was only the perma-bean that got that. Learn sumpin new err'day

Trying to figure out how to keep my pool equipment from freezing up over the next couple days. Never been this cold here before. Ever..

I think I am going to drain my house pipes overnight as well. Lots of exposed pipes in the attics here.

Either keep it running 24 hours and make a quick cover with 1" insulation board or shut the valves and close to the pool as you can and drain the rest.

The cover probably isn't necessary if you keep it running but it's cheap insurance.

Anyone else getting this when they try to login to toyota.com/owners? It's been like this for a few days for me on several different computers from several different locations...

Wrap a bag, blanket, or put a cardboard box (or combination of all three) over the pool equipment and throw a drop light (with 100w incandescent bulb) under it. The heat will be just sufficient as long as the wind is kept out.

Draining the pipes in attic is a good idea. Wrap your Spigots with a rag/towel to keep the wind off.

Yep. They make these cool Spigot styrofoam covers with a rubber tension band for colder climes. They keep the wind off and trap just enough heat emanating off the house.

Open your kitchen/bathroom cab doors and let heat ‘skirkulate’ (Island for circulate).

Back looking at wheel spacers :annoyed: 1.25 or 1.50 spidertraxxs.

for those of y’all running spacers do you run a different size up front than out back? I seen some 3rd gen 4runners set up like that and a few guys on here with late model tundras done like that

Been running 1.25 Spidertrax for a year or so now. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

@MrDirtjumper, I’ve been leaning spidertraxxs, you got the blue or black ones? Curios how much that blue shows lol

@empty_lord, I’m kicking myself for not getting scs with less backspace. I went with the methods which are 4.5 backspace with 0 offset. I was gonna just pull the flares and let it go but Toyota thought it was an awesome idea to punch holes in the metal. Enter the spacers lol

I thought treating a stop sign as a yield sign was a CT thing, but maybe it's more common & it's just a thing that started the same time I moved here.

What happened to STOP meaning FULL cessation of all forward motion?

Any stop signs that are red are optional. (At least that’s how the Illinois motherfuckers treat them)

Did another check today. It's been 165 miles since I got the Tundra back with it's new T-stat & gaskets.
Been watching the coolant closely. Been driving city, highway, 30,55,65,80,90 for these past weeks.

Checked tonight & the coolant is still sitting at the same level as my last fill to.
Firestone didn't burp it & the mechanic must have missed some air when he gave it back. In the first week I had to add & add again, but since - dead on.

So I guess officially my head gasket is still good at 214k miles. Phew. :bananadance:

It’s pretty normal for the first few hundred miles are coolant replacement for the red to drop... it’s pretty hard to eliminate all air pockets without driving unless you use a vacuum filler

I have spidertrax in blue. They ever so slightly show through my LC80 wheels. Same size front and back (1.5"). That said, I've run spidertrax on numerous Toyotas and never had a problem. Install them correctly and you won't have worries.

i really want to get my carpet all installed in the tundra BUT THIS FUCKING WEATHER WONT COOPERATE WITH ME.

Oh well.... Thinking about getting a more compact set of spare tire tools too and making a custom rear storage thing for the back wall of the cab.. since space is limited. Hell i'm starting to wonder if a custom center console is a good idea.

Where are tires rubbing? If its hitting fender then spacers will make it worse.

no rubbing to speak of, just trying to get rid of that tucked look the truck has. I don’t mind trimming if it pushes them out to far.

Yeah. There is a steep driveway nearby and that gets most of it. Still need to keep eyeing it a few days after driving around. Was towing a few weeks after the TB Job and was on a sustained incline for about 20 minutes and she let the final burp go on me. Keeping her at the F when Hot helps me know if the level changes. Glad you got it worked out.

Having grown up in NWI, I can confirm this.

    Fun related anecdote:

In HS, I told a cheerleader all stop signs with white borders are optional.
Apparently, she didn't know all stops signs have white borders. (I reckon there are a lot of things she didn't know.)

After she totaled her car, blowing a stop sign, she never spoke to me again. :D

    Also,
We only got <3" of snow overnight and the roads have been not been plowed, no salt put down, and I didn't see a single plow on my 25 miles trek in to work.
It's projected for us to get ~6-11" more snow in the next 20 hours. Maybe INDOT is just going to wait it out and hope it keeps everyone off the road since schools are closed for Presidents' Day.

Driving in icy conditions is no problem at all...as long as you don't try to accelerate, brake, or turn.
