My buddy ran the Yoko's on his 3rd gen runner and they were a great tire. I really like the look of them as well.

...and dear god I want a UTE tray so damn bad. I've been toying with building a flat bed for a bit now. Finally got into a house with a 3 car garage, so I may actually commit to it.

The piece that you attach the net to is like a wedge that fits into the pressure clip and expands it as its pressed in. These clips are really awkward though.

I did car audio for years and have taken literally every kind of car apart and these are one of the weirdest ones to explain.

The star wedge head thing has a cup on the back side of it. The pressure clip also has a star head that fits inside the cup so you can’t twist it out. You need to pry between that cup and then somehow work the wedge out.

According to Toyota, my truck left the factory with tiny P245/70/16 tires.

Safe to say that my odometer has probably been off nearly all its life? It had 265's when I got it.

If you are going by the door sticker, those are often inaccurate...yours is a factory TRD OR, right? It came with 265/70r16s from the factory.

No I am looking at the spec sheet on Toyota.com for my VIN. It says 245.

Don’t be surprised the spec on my drivers door shows the same yet I bought it new with 265s in an SR5 configuration with the alloy wheel option. BJs warehouse refused to put 265s on for liability reasons even though I’ve had 265s for the life of the truck.

Last time I bother with that place. I’m glad they’re not all like that.

As I recall only the steel rim wheels actually had 245s.

    Stupid human tricks.
I've got this one parking spot off pavement. Actually an open flagstone patio next to the porch. There's a pitch to the paved parking area - towards that section of lawn & patio.
To park in that spot you have to make a very tight turn around the corner of the house. If you don't get it just right you have to make a 3 point (or more) turn to get docked properly.
Was backing the truck into that spot last night, but was a smidge wide so I was catching the snow bank. Put it in drive to realign & spun the rear tires.
I was (& am) really tired so "parked it" & called it a day. However the truck is stuck & blocking everything else. Tried to put it into 4WD, then thought better - pretty sure you're not to engage 4x4 when wheels have no traction? Oh well. Point being even 4x4 + LSD isn't always the answer to bad driving. I managed to get stuck on the slight patch of ice from refrozen snow melt at the edge of the driveway. Sigh. Guess I'll have to go deal with that at some point today. I tossed ice melt on the ice around the tires before going in, maybe it will be all better today?

...and yes I could have put it in 4HI in advance, but then I wouldn't have been able to make the turn, so.

oh well - stupid human tricks.

(if anyone is wondering - I hate that hard bed cover.) It does interesting things with airflow. I end up with a little tornado in the dead center, fun to watch as you are driving with a little snow on the cover. Drive down the road with a little white funnel cloud.
The ice melt seems to have done something.

Yeah it says I had steel rims too. Maybe it's wrong.

My guess, and I could be wrong, is that unless it was part of the standard configuration, all alloy wheels with 265s came as an option and wasn’t integrated into the VIN or labeled on the door correctly.

Vin doesn’t show option tire sizes. Off-road was an option that added the larger tires
