Hey yall. Anyone know what would make my abs suddenly stop working? I have zero leaks so I'm assuming it's something electrical or a plug. Can anyone tell me some common failure points on our abs systems? Thanks

(Camper conversion underway.) Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
I know it's barely been a day, but have you had a chance to drive on these and see if there's any difference? Haha I'll take anything. Was really eyeing up those aftermarket coils for my engine replacement but no one had said they used them.

Not sure if they still are but most of MSD ignition parts used to be made in El Paso.

I had a small hicup at idle for the longest time and no matter what I have done it wouldn't go away. Well it's gone now, that tells me that 1 or 2 of the old 1's wasn't functioning properly. My engine is a happy hummingbird on the good stuff at the moment.

All of my 24mm sockets are 12 point except for my impact sockets. I would like to use a six point socket on the new drain/ fill plugs for my rear diff so I do not mangle them. I went to four different places today and the biggest six point socket I could find was 21mm. Grr :censored:

And I’m going back tomorrow for a second coat, I know you can appreciate a thorough job!
The pookie really needs a second coat....... and I forgot to tar the car flex for the T stat that i drilled. I’ll take a pic of the perfect execution on a stud with a hole saw!

I prefer the Impact 6 Points Sockets. Seems they have a nice edge that bites. Why not use the Impact Socket? Unless you don’t have one that size?

I have an impact six point, but this was what I was originally taught and why I was seeking out a chrome socket. Something with the metal mojo.

I sorta understand where your coming from, but the drain plugs aren’t torqued down to 90ftlbs like a wheel lug is.
If I haven’t ever removed said plug, I tap it with a brass hammer. That helps jar the threads loose, it slightly crushes the crush washer further so there is less resistance on the threads as you back it out.

I tried to work my Google-fu but didn't find anything more definitive than that. If you guys find something that disproves that, post it. My takeaway is that for light work there is no harm in using an impact socket but that it shouldn't be used if it's being paired with a 4 foot breaker bar.

On the surface, what they said makes sense. That's assuming they are correct about the metal being softer.

Agreed. I used an impact socket on my rear diff last week. It's only torqued to around 40lbs. I never could find the torque spec for the drain plug, only the fill plug at 39 ft lbs.

That's a very good point. I guess I'm just an overly cautious person at times, and I was trying to stick to the way I would normally go about it. I don't want to cause a headache for the next time I service the diff. I'll stick with my impact socket unless a chrome one falls in my hands.

I'll shock you all. I use almost nothing but impact sockets. I don't have a lot of chrome sockets, besides my impact sockets are black so they work faster. I have not had a problem with the impact sockets mutating.

Now are you ready for this part? Most of them are Pittsburgh... that's right, from Harbor Freight! the ones that aren't are Husky.

Anyone need any random smaller 1st Gen Tundra/Sequoia bits? About to do a scrap yard run for a few harnesses. You cover shipping, part, and a small fee (for gas, entrance cost, and time). Will take this post down if against rules.

I need the sun visor mounting screws if you find any. Just the screws, not the visors.
