My thinking is why would I get a vaccine that’s 95% effective for a virus that’s 99.8% survivable.

I think the initial logic of front line (hospital) and elderly/high risk first recipients makes sense.

I would be curious if this becomes a “yearly” Covid shot.

Boise was a popular spot for people to move in the last ten years anyway, but since C19 its only gotten worse. A buddy of mine has 80k equity in his home after 6 MONTHS, which is the case for a lot of homes around here, but there are other exceptions in a nicer part of town that have 100k+ in equity after less than a year. Houses will be listed for less than 24 hours and have 12 offers. They can't build homes fast enough, so people are consistently having to pay 30-50k OVER asking price just to have a competitive offer. As a result, lots of out of state buyers are putting in an offer on a home sight unseen just to get one. It's already nuts.

Yep. I’ve only known one person that had a distant relative die from the Flu this year. Sad that anyone dies ever, but this person was in their 80’s and unsure of their medical history.

In the past the flu shot has been about 35-50% effective depending on if the manufacturer ‘guesses’ the upcoming ‘formula’ for the unknown coming virus that year. I knew someone who used to tell me to get the shot every year like they did. They always got mildly sick right after the shot. Sometimes even caught the flu again if the inoculation was wrong in the vaccine. I didn’t and never got sick.

I did talk with a guy on the phone the other day who was about 10 days in to his sickness and sounded pretty bad. He’ll be alright like everyone else I’ve read about here that had it.

If I got the vaccine, it wouldn't be for me necessarily. I would get it to try and put an end to all this madness and to try and keep myself from accidentally giving COVID to someone like my dad. I get anxiety each time I visit him as I don't want to get him sick.

Also, you are correct about the low risk of dying but there are other nasty things happening even if one survives. I know 2 different nurses that said they are seeing folks survive but with horrible life long side effects such as damage to the heart. Young people too. So yes, if given the chance this spring, I'll take the shot in my arm. But I also won't judge anyone that doesn't want to get the vaccine.

Surfing through some old pics tonight and spotted a pic of my '02 in the garage in 2017. Made me miss the old truck. But, also made me appreciative of engineers who design trusses.

just down the road is a town called Westport, CT. Once the C-19 evacuee's started flooding out of NYC - I heard on the news that the average house price increase in that town was up $400k. My blue collar town, prices only jumped $40k. Crazy.

I don't know about stock shocks, but the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks are interchangeable between the Tacoma and Tundra, which leads me to believe the stock would be also.

    24-186728-P - Rear Bilstein 5100 Shocks)

Bilstein B8 5100 shock absorbers have a gas pressure monotube designed specifically for lifted trucks, SUVs and Jeeps. The shocks feature a 46mm digressive piston with self-adjusting deflective disc valving. Bilstein B8 5100 shock absorbers offer superior damping ability that makes them ideal for heavy hauling or occasional off-road use, while maintaining an exceptional street ride. Bilstein B8 5100 shock absorbers feature a zinc-plated steel body for resistance to harsh off-road elements.

Anybody tried the raptor lights in a 1st gen grill yet? I’m a fan of the look. Seen it on 3rd tacos, a few 2nd gen tacos, 3rd and 4th gen 4runners. I’m thinkin about trying it on mine

Also will the center console tray thing from a sequoia fit a dc tundra? I need a place for more switches

Are you looking at an aftermarket light kit or something? I like the IDEA of it but still wonder what it would look like as a Toyota wanting to look like a Ford. Yuck.

Last week I put some raptor lights on my '04 DC. Looks great.

I used a kit I found at Walmart for about $18. Came with the 3 LEDs and brackets. Extended the wires and ran them through some plastic flex tubing down the driver's side hood strut. Red (power) wire is tapped into the power wire for the DRLs on the driver's side corner light assembly, so the grille lights come on with the DRLs and headlights.

    Yes I know, osha.
    3”-2.5” reducer on.
I chopped the vband and ran a wire brush(1” copper cleaning brush) down each tube, there was sooooooo much shit that came out of each primary! I also plan on sending a die grinder down each tube at the collector to get all the danglers off that didn’t get reamed.

Got an airbag recall notice from Toyota today. Odd since I had it done when I bought my truck. Is there another recall? This one is Recall R90. Something about an inflator that could rupture and do the shrapnel thing. I can't remember what the recall I had done was.

They’ve been sending me notices about this a lot, in the last month I’ve gotten 3 emails, and one postcard in the mail.
I think it’s basically the same recall as before, but for the passenger side, last one was for driver side.

Yeah, this one is almost accusatory. In big bold letters at the top it proclaims "We can't understand why we haven't heard from you!" as if it's my fault I hadn't known about this latest recall yet.

The aftermath can be pretty terrible. My wife's niece is only 24, fit as can be aside from having mild asthma (I was surprisedto learn she had that). She got covid around May and got over it pretty quickly, but now she has a heart condition as a souvenir.

There has already been a recall on the passenger side, they gave us defective bags to replace the old defective bags. I got mine taken care of last week, no biggie.
