I'm surprised you didn't tell him how those 12 hole injectors will help with that problem

You need to be ‘Ordained’ by another ‘Fill in the Blank’ to be considered an ‘Ordained Fill in the Blank’. I have stories that will make your blood boil. I still hang with JC, though.

If I had seen the 12 holes prior I would’ve bought those. I just replaced all of them because 6/8 had cracks.

Test drive on some hills. Come back and bag it. If that doesn’t do it I’m going to bed.

I don't understand why the 5 speed has to be at a specific temperature to change the fluid. Why can't he just measure and refill like the 4 speeds?

I know a few M@#&Ken pastors that can assist (he's also my electrician)

I spent some time in the pulmonologist office in September just before my med insurance was cancelled. This doc won't make a good pastor, he lacked the necessary enthusiastic and positive tone and demeanor that is essential to job.

Heat guns are $12 at harbor freight. A cooler can also be a heater with enough motivation.

Okay, not your point but... Let's all look at your frame.
Why The H*LL can billion dollar companies not figure out a metal coating for frames that lasts?
Cheap exhaust parts - sure. Cheap hard fuel / brake lines (grumble, grumble) sure. But Frames? WTF already?
At the very least - have Woolwax or grease rubs part of annual maintenance routine at the dealership. ...JFC.

because when they rust out the consumer needs to buy a new one.

It's no different than planned obsolescence in technology, and why new refrigerators aren't designed to last more than 5 years and cannot be repaired.

They make more money by selling cheap garbage that gets replaced frequently, then by making quality products that last longer, but cost more. If you look at any company over it's years of growth, they cut corners and cheapen the product to make it cost less over time. EVEN TOYOTA.

Well, to be fair I am fairly confident in saying the previous owner that had the truck for just north of a decade did not take it through a regular car wash in the winter and let the Iowa Winter Road Crews abuse the underbody.

We have become a disposable nation. Everything we buy is disposable. We truly cannot afford a quality leather sofa so we buy Ikea. Understanding the domino effect on crap wages is mind boggling.

The only time you want to wash your car in the winter time is if it pops above 30 degrees, then the ice melts and interacts with the salt on your vehicle, which causes rust. There is no reason at all to wash your vehicle under freezing temperatures, all your doing is introducing water to salt and causing rust. What people should do is get on ther ass and back and roll under their truck and apply a oil or grease rust preventative really well, and then bam your good for like the next few years. I live in the salt belt and plenty people go the whole winter without washing their car.

Toyota inflation has been pretty bad out here (west) for a while now. Even Lexus is getting bad - high mileage (+200k) for top dollar asking price... and people are still scooping them up left and right.

    Edit: example below

    Tacomas are even worse...

A lot of people don't ever keep a vehicle long enough for it to matter. Average ownership length is 8 years so pretty much when the first major problem shows up they dump it on a newer vehicle.

It’s not uncommon to have weeks below freezing, but also we don’t currently have snow on the ground but we’ve had two or three snow events and rounds of salt.

I am willing to bet, knowing previous owner, he didn’t wash it “regularly”.

Edit: Around here it’s also very common to own a garage which means daily it would be stored above freezing.

I think you guys are missing the chance to point out that clearly the DEEP STATE, controlled by the automakers, is in control of our town road agents, ensuring that they use enough salt to rot away the cars and keep the purchase train rolling.

    Break

I've got a brake problem on my 2003 access cab (stepside 4x4 V8 TRD with factory LSD, ARE cap, and usually ~200 pounds of other stuff in case it's relevant).

When I step on the brake pedal I find myself completely satisfied by the rate I slow down, as well as the feeling under my foot. What should I do to fix that and become less content?

First thing is to unadjust your parking brake and then lower your proportioning valve. If you're really committed then introduce some air into the lines.

I assume you meant to write you find yourself unsatisfied? You will find complaints about the brakes to be a hot topic around here and full of debate. You can start by making sure your rear brakes are adjusted correctly. After than, our trucks have a LSPV above the rear axle that can be adjusted to send brake bias towards the front or rear. Some folks have had good results with this. It hasn't personally helped me.

edit- Oh I see now. Your dry humor went right over my head. Shame on me.
