Anyone dealt with a flashing seatbelt light before? Mine flashes even when I'm buckled. Since we don't have active headrests or any modern safety features I'm guessing the flashing light really doesn't matter?

It seems to do it both with and without a passenger. I have noticed in the past if I set an item in the passenger seat it will flash but that's not what I'm referring to. It's doing it with 2 passengers both buckled.

Composite bed doesn’t rust. And it’s proven to be stout. Other than the bedsides being an issue with lots of weight put onto them. Bed stiffeners help a lot to fix that

That's what I was leaning towards. I've noticed when it's not buckled the button stays retracted but the other 2 seatbelts don't do this.

I guess I'm not sure if it's even worth replacing? Not sure it matters or not.

Squirt some Silicone with Teflon in there. Maybe try cleaning it up first. Work that thing!

They usually just get grimy. Get some plastic safe contact cleaner, wrap a rag around the bottom, and spray away. Snap the buckle in and out while you're spraying.

WD40 would work too but the contact cleaner won't leave any residue.

They’re like 40 bucks. Not horrible to replace. Last thing you want is it to straight up quit working

Take a good look in there for any foreign objects. Mine did this years ago and it was a dime that slid in there and got stuck. Was pretty entertaining to get it out.

if there is nothing visible, spray some compressed air followed by lube in there. Might just have some crap in there jamming it. If not, replace it.

anyone here able to tell me in a non mechanics way..
how an intake manifold gasket leak would lead to drop in coolant?
Have been losing coolant since summer. Have not noticed any leaks, puddles.
    No overheating
no moisture on rad cap / oil cap
no rough idle, no loss of power
fingers crossed, no leaks from what i can see on my block

have had an off / on P0430 code, seems to be triggered with high temp swings with high humidity

I remember back in the 90’s when there was a HUGE controversy about statements that came from Toyota Corp. Execs in regards to seat buckles problems. They blamed the Americans ‘eating habits’ for the problem. Reasoning was ‘various crumbs and french fry bits’ would lodge the devices unusable.

The news was up in arms! I laughed because its true.

I just remembered that I once had a seat belt buckle fail on my 04 Acura. It was well out of normal warranty at that time but they claimed seatbelts were covered for life so they replaced it for free. I always thought that was odd. I assume that's unique to Acura..?

Got the belt tensioner and belt replaced on the Element today. When I picked it up I was so happy to hear that little Japanese motor sing at high rpm.

Now I gotta wax it, buff the headlights, and restore all the black trim. Then who knows, maybe some cool fog lights.

I would worry that airbags would not deploy with an active seatbelt failure indication.

I have decided that I'm going to treat myself to a Milwaukee Impact. I'm going to see what Black Friday brings. Anyone have an impact grade socket set they recommend?

This one has good reviews and it's not made in China so that's a plus.

Nice! You’ll be stoked and wonder why you didn’t get one sooner. As far as the sockets, I went the Husky route as they were less price as big gurrl pre-chiyna flu. Not made in USA sadly.

You’ll want 1/2” drive if you are going Mamba.

    Good life choice!
I wouldn’t call myself a “fan” but lifetime warranties at harbor freight are hard to beat. Not sure if there is one close to you or not. Here there are like 3-4 in town so it’s easy to get replacements if something breaks, my 17mm broke on my LBJs but I didn’t have it engaged fully on the head

I tried to do some handle model stuff this morning. I’ve got a long way to go........
I replaced my engine coolant temp sensor and was trying to get some mojo comparison numbers. They were a little off but not a huge amount.
