Just under 50k. Runs nice, even went to the smog guy direct from the shop and it passed. Doesn't feel as lazy and cumbersome as it used to, its kind of like when you buy new shoes then realize how beat up your old shoes were. I'm pretty excited to drive it again.

Are you worried about led headlights in the snow? I thought they didn't melt the snow off the headlights

The compressor I installed 3-4 months back, shit the bed. I told them not to put any more money into it(12ish years old ice machine) but they didn’t want to listen. I was kinda frustrated because I know it didn’t fail due to my install, and ice machines can be a pain to diagnose and trouble shoot! Well when I started it up everything ran fine, it shut off properly, then I sent it into freeze cycle......the head pressure rose and rose and rose. There’s a head master(maintains a constant head pressure) control that was stuck in bypass(not cooling thru the condenser) so it was pumping 400psi +, gave it the old tap tap smack with my crescent, nothing. Cut the capillary tube dome charge, still nothing. So I shut her down to live another day after I install a new head pressure control.
    Stupid pigeons!

These headlights are pretty rounded off. Likely not much of an issue with wax on them

I’ve had good luck just hitting the surface that’s holding the bolt/ball joint stud/tie rod end, and then hitting up on it with a nut protecting the treads. I did it last night to help my neighbor, he looked destroyed when I popped the tie rod out so easy.

Alright, I'll be losing my brake job virginity with this project. I've only ever helped a buddy with his Nissan Rogue.
Dan the Fix it Man used some Sil-Glyde on the back of the shims. I have the shim kit and Toyota pads. Should I pick up a tube of that? Any other tips I should know about?

For some reason he went 100 ft lbs on the caliper bolts for the 2004 in the video, but my FSM says 90 ft lbs. Maybe 04 was different.

Don't forget to grease the rotors really good too, wouldn't want them to rust.

Use the grease that came with the shims.. sil-glide is meant for caliper pins. At work for shims we use a paste, called noise free, disc brake squeal silencer

it’s a brush in bottle, grey bottle with white sticker and blue letters

Ugh. I just picked them up. I didn't notice it until I got home but it looks like they shaved both sides of the ears. So instead of shaving off 3.5mm from one side they took that total amount off the entire ear. :annoyed:

I'd like to think I can bring them back and have them shave a little more off the inside portion.. Right?

Now that they shaved the opposite side, you also need to watch the caliper bolt isn’t too long and hits the rotor.

Yeah....F**K. Who was it that complained about redneck machine shops? I think it was BMF. I explained it to this guy 3 times and he even repeated it back to me. At no point did we discuss machining the outside edge. I would like to think if he took equal amounts off both sides then I should tell him to take another 1.75mm off the inside edge. I don't have much faith in him at this point.

This isn’t boding well. Also, I thought it was 3mm not 3.5mm. Either way you’re now losing more meat if you have the proper side shaved another +/-1.5mm. :annoyed:

I hate being right on this one. :annoyed:

Both numbers were given by the Geholf dude. I'm sure as long as you're in that 3.0-3.5mm range it's fine. I confirmed with @imDementeD he did 3.5mm so that's what I went with.

Well, I'm an asshole. I really need to stop jumping to conclusions. I got to looking at old pictures I took from a few days ago and realized that's how they come. So I called the shop and he confirmed he didn't shave the outside. All should be well.
