5S activity on the tool box. Via gift from friends.

Socket rails. Instead of carrying two different boxes when working. I pick up one rail with both deep/shallow sockets.

Here is a before picture, but you have to imagine two more boxes.

One more deep/shallow box each. Some room saved for cramming more tools in.

 

Do they pay for your tools at work?

 

No. They will purchase "specialty" tools such as Allen wrenches (hex-key,) and Multi-meters for the electricians.

All tools are personal property, and at our own expense. This is my home box.

If we break a tool, they will "replace" it with proof of purchase.

Edited to add: If I lived 10 minutes from work I wouldn't have started a second collection of tools. Driving an hour one way for a set of sockets or something silly that I forgot to bring home results in two hours lost of work time. Valuable time when you're a weekend warrior like me...

That same drawer back in May when I was on furlough for the corona event to remember. Lots of work tools came home, and occupied the space. Most of which were returned.

 

I love my spidertrax spacers and have been off-roading in Moab with them multiple times, no problems at all. I run 265/70/17 with 4runner trail wheels 15mm offset. Spacers were solely for looks, but they do look much better to me.

Someday when I grow up I'll get SCS wheels with the -38mm offset and remove the spacers, but that's just because I love the look of SCS wheels

On my build sheet it states the hitch was put on at port not factory so not sure if this is what your looking for.

 

What paint do you guys recommend for brake calipers? I think I might try to feel 18 again and paint these new ones red. I've seen a few people here do it and it looks good.

 

I have all mine powder coated. My Avalon’s were powder coated black 3 years ago. They still look new

 

I bet that’s the accessory one I found listed. So it appears to tuck up tight to the body as well. Might just get the Toyota one for the simple fact I can have it in a day

I used the Rustoleum Ceramic High Heat as a primer (4 coats) and then did Rustoleum Gloss Finish (3 coats). Holding well.

Even the rear driver plate, which has had 2 oil soakings and been cleaned with Brake Cleaner, has held well. Usually, the brake kleen takes the paint off. Maybe because its black its hiding, but still looks good.

Ya know... I could just get a full light bar that will mount from ditch light bracket to ditch light brackets across the hood.

That totally won't get in my line of sight like @empty_lord is planning to move against

Technically it would work since the brackets do move with the hood.

I was worried about glare with floods, But there seems to be a mix of opinions on which type. I guess I can always move em if I don’t like em

 

I went with amber as well to reduce glare as well

 

I'm getting closer to fixing my $250 fuck up. I doubt this is necessary but I marked the torque sequence per the instructions I found. I'm not sure where that guy it from because it's not in my FSM. Also, I'm pretty sure they don't sell many transmission filters because this thing looks like it's been on a shelf for a long time. The cork gaskets are neat.

 

Did all the bolts come out pretty easy?

 

Very nice, but you know when you flip the pan to install it, all your numbers will be upside down.

 

Yes. That part was a breeze. They are barely torqued down, per spec. The FIPG does most of the work it seems. The old pan has been hanging for days while I wait for my oil pan separator to arrive. Again, probably not necessary but given my track record of breaking shit I thought it wouldn't hurt. If nothing else it will make the job easier. I'm thinking it will only work on a few sides as it looks like the front driveshaft is blocking me from using it on that side. We'll see.

 

I hate you sometimes. I guess I'll have to read it upside down.
