Shrimp and grits with redeye gravy that has gator sausage in it? Gravy is always the winner for me, if there was that sausage minced in it, I think it'd be stellar.

    Those look freaking amazing.

Thanks for the compliment and the recipe idea... Would you put a cheese in the shrimp n grits?
I'm thinking that I have okra, peppers and tomatoes in the garden.

    Well then, gumbo it is!

I always do grits with cheese. 1 part grits to 4 parts liquid (usually milk and water mix), and half as much cheese as grits.

i.e. ½ cup of grits with 1 cup water, 1 cup whole milk, ¼ cup of cheese. Salt and pepper to taste, and maybe sneak a pinch of cayenne in for fun.

Shrimp, I'll skewer up. Mix my BBQ rub in with some olive oil to make a paste. Rub the paste all over the shrimp on the skewer. Toss in fridge for an hour or two. Throw on a hot grill 2-3 mins per side. Winner every time, shell on or shell off.

My BBQ rub, I've posted on here before. Smoked paprika is the winner here, don't use sweet or hot. This is a no-brainer, mix the ingredients and mortar/pestle them to integrate the brown sugar and kosher salt.

    3 TBSP smoked paprika
    2 TBSP brown sugar
2 TBSP kosher salt (or half that if regular table salt)
    1 TBSP onion powder
    ½ TBSP garlic powder
    1 tsp ground black pepper
    1 tsp dried parsley

Thanks for the idea. I would use Gouda for the cheese. Wife won't allow the heat from cayenne, but the rub is spot on.

Ya'll aren't gonna like this... But I am wondering (JUST WONDERING) if anyone has added a pickup to to the top of their sending unit assy in order to provide fuel for a gasoline heater (for a camper)

I'm thinking about solutions for my four wheel camper heat. I'm trying to simplify energy sources like electrical, propane, gas, and diesel... Electrical is a long for the ride no matter what, and I'm going to attempt to get it working for cooking.... Now if I can simply heating to gas, that would be something. I'd be using an espar gasoline heater, which works like a diesel heater, buuuut I'm pretty squeamish about tapping the top of the assembly photographed above. The promaster and transit guys do it all the time tho....

Yeah, that fella went extinct a long time ago.

Sadly, Entitlement won that fight, partially because Selfishness entered the ring, and brought DGAF along with, but what really tipped the scales was when FuckYourFeelings hopped into the mix to seal the deal.

This is, sadly, the state of the world now. The majority doesn’t give a shit about anyone else, if there is some gratuity to be had somewhere. And if you speak out about decorum and decency, you get demonized. Welcome to the future.

This reminds me of an encounter with a Door Dash driver yesterday at a restaurant. I pull into a parking spot and as soon as I open my door, he pulls in right next to me instead of two spots away. I have to close my door and stay inside while he re-parks about five times so he doesn't hit my door.

We go inside and he's standing at the counter right next to me so the restaurant employee can serve him first. Luckily the employee served me first, otherwise I would have had some choice words for Mr Door Dash.

I love grits. I can't have em hardly any more, because of the carbs

Cheese grits with sausage or bacon and a fried egg on top.

    Thank you.

Happy Birthday to you as well, I'll begin my 66th trip around the sun Tuesday.

I tend to buy myself a birthday present... 8 years ago it was an '07 RCSB Tundra... I cancelled the CD changer, so I'll probably buy some parts for one or both of my Tundra trucks.

I was exposed to Pink Floyd as a kid but I've only recently had a home stereo that can allow me to truly hear & appreciate their music... better late than never.

If you have not already listened to it, you need to listen to the 2018 remix of Animals. That CD changer wasn't the great deal I thought it was, so I cancelled the deal.

Didn't know there was a remix. Animals is good one.
Dark Side of the Moon will always be my favorite.
Wish You Were Here, and Meddle are good too.
I have the the Wall movie.

I think that was also my introduction as a midnight movie on the big screen.

"Wish You Were Here" on CD was delivered to my house last Monday.
