So a laser is used to excite the phosphor chip to emit light. Interesting

Wrote an estimate for a 24 Audi Q5 this morning and noticed that the headlamp assembly costs a whopping $3,658.32 PER unit.

These are adaptive headlamps that have their own computer and requires a separate calibration that is not included in that price. That is way too expensive.

My moms qx80’s headlights steer with the wheels above 15mph or so. It was a cool gimmick for a couple of minutes.

    lol, what a deal!

Question for the gang. My neighbor has a 2018 Titan. He said he's having to replace the battery every year and it's been happening almost since new. I asked if it has anything aftermarket installed. He said the dealership added an alarm. Is that where you would start investigating? I'm not great with electrical gremlins.

    Bad alternator another possibility?

thats where i’d start, but thats a pretty deep rabbithole if you dig into the titan forums. I’ve been told over & over the only reason my titan doesnt have problems is because it doesnt have any options.

Sounds like a parasitic draw maybe from that aftermarket alarm or some other source? I don't think it would be the alternator otherwise the vehicle wouldn't stay running. The battery starts the vehicle and the alternator takes over from there.

First start with a dark current draw test and isolate the circuit with the draw (if it has one that can be found)

I did find this information that may be of use to your neighbor. Seems like these have a "smart alternator".

Ok, I’m over my Magnaflow muffler. It sounds great. It just sounds too much. It’s loud and aggressive tone is fun when you want to roll the windows down and get after it. Then the other 90% of the time, it’s just too loud and obnoxious. It’s terrible when towing, very loud, increased in cab drone etc. Think I'm going back to a super 50 Flowmaster.

Just a few minutes ago, I was sitting at a red light, my 06 felt like it stalled. My A/T oil light and battery light came on. But my ATF was 136°F and my battery is practically new.
I shifted into park, turned everything off and cranked right back up. Idle was a little rough feeling at ~600rpm, but steady. No fluctuation in RPMs.

Stock exhaust with a cutout immediately after the resonator is absolutely the way to go. When I want quiet I flip a switch, when I want it back to being loud I flip a switch again. Works great.

I'm getting tired of mine too. It's nice to hear the V8 but the drone at 2k RPM is getting old. Maybe I'm just getting older.

I've considered having a shop install a basic muffler that's quiet.

Is the super 50 a good option?

I had the 50 series delta flow previously and really liked it. Good sound, mild volume. The Super 50 has a larger canister and built in resonator to prevent drone in the cabin.

Thats really a not good name for the light. It's more like a TCM "check engine" light. It'll come on when the ECM recognizes a TCM code is stored.

I have a Gibson Muffler. Sounds decent and not too loud and once I added a resonator the 2k RPM drone went away. Happy with it

Had almost the same issue once after changing out my fuel injectors. One was slightly off center.
Was driving perfectly fine then stalled once I stopped at a red light but it started right up and drove fine after.

We’ve gotten 4.25” of rain here since last night. That why i assumed it was moisture related.

Some terrible analysis on that thread and bad advice. Those appear to be the Moog or mevotech ball joints with the blue boots. I’m guessing the bolts were overtorqued, not as the poster described “mechanic didn’t tighten them”. And suggesting they get some 555s to replace their failed aftermarket ball joint is absurd.
