So, like, "unistrut" but it has nothing to do with mounting conduit.

Update on this: got on the highway, drove great. About 100 miles into the trip I stopped for gas, and while accelerating onto the highway it threw the same P0773. But it shifted just fine!!

In the past I have had issues with P0770, and every time it happens it's clear that solenoid E is not functioning. Solenoid E controls line pressure when shifting, so when it isn't functioning, the transmission slams into the next gear. The code would also return as soon as the truck would shift from 1st to 2nd. Now, with the P0773, it's shifting just like normal, and the code stays away after clearing it. Not sure yet when/what is causing it to return.

P0770 just means "solenoid E malfunction"
P0773 means "solenoid E electrical malfunction"

Edit: just drove the truck around for 30min, couldn’t get CEL to come on. No permanent or pending codes. Checked ATF level with temp at 145°, just a bit overfull. Fluid nice and clean, not burnt smelling. All gears and TC lockup work. Shifts like a dream. Arrrg!!

No doubt they look high quality and weren’t cheap to many, but dang. I think the guy needs to figure out a way to drop the price significantly. Most all 1st gen owners aren’t in the over landing mindset of buying REALLY expensive parts simply because they add more weight to the vehicle.

That's not terrible. Toyota quoted me $1100 in pre-Rona times to do mine with them supplying the parts.

I hate that you're having the same issues with no result yet. What brand sensors? Were they hard?

You don’t need them, they are for double cabs, and yours probably also aren’t rusted out. There, saved $750

My truck has been a southern truck but I've still got one side delaminated. Not bad, but more than I'd like. It would be nice to pull the stiffener out and replace it. But not for $700.

I bet some quality plate could be sourced in like thickness, held up to the old one that’s been removed, or traced on the frame itself and cut to shape, upper and lower plates bent to follow the lines and tacked into the C channel shape, ferment confirmed, and then rust proof weld through primed, welded or bolted into the frame stiffener location, then rustproofed. For less than $750.

Honestly, depending where/how it's delaminated, you can potentially modify it, taking out laminated material, while it is still holding its rigidity. Like, if the delam is thru the middle, grind back to clean metal in an nice, even radius to preserve rigidity. I'd never do this with a framerail, but in most cases with a C-shaped or U-shaped stiffener, it's perfectly fine. The primary stress will be at the 90° bends and thru the center plate. Quite often, only reason manufacturers keeps them flat is because that's the natural shape of steel (square), and rounding out like this to make it look nice takes time, and time is money.

If a hitch has a weight rating, say 10k lbs, but a weight rating of 1k lbs, is it safe to have a horizontal pulling load of 9k lbs? The pin?

or are we talking about an order of magnitude difference?

    say 250lb.ft (through a torque multiplier!) x2.804 x 3.9 = 2734lb.ft. Double that for 4lo, and multiply by .75 since ive got 30”ish tires…

or, assume my truck is 3 tons, with a traction coefficient of .7 i’m not gonna be able to pull more that 4200 lbs anyway? Assuming i’ve got tire blocks, locked in 4l, with the p-brake & sitting inside holding the hydraulics. There are too many rocks to drag me far before i set up on something that aint moving.

a 5/8 hitch pin is good for 20-30k pounds in shear depending on who you ask.

edit- X2 since you brought it up

When you build my bumpers i want 6 2” hitch points. At the center, and as close to the framerails front & back. I can have my winch mount @ the centers, and a motorcycle carrier that uses 2 front & back.

and my oem stainless pin i had to hammer in (never been used), is definately tighter than the average pin. Even after a dozen or so 3-4k lb pulls. That pin is kept near the wheel lock it’s so important.

Welp, something arrived today, quietly. I never got tracking info or anything. One tube has a few scuffs on it, the other is dusty like it's been sitting on a shelf for eons. @PNW15 did you end up getting anything yet? They don't communicate at all! They sent me the receipt, and that was it. They said it'd arrive yesterday, but it got here today. I'm just glad both got here.
