17F with 12 mph winds. It’ll get really cold starting tonight with Wednesday morning being 2F with a windchill that’ll easily bring it below zero. Not sure how much.

Im looking at upper Minnesota on the news going “Damn! -25F temps”.

Costco. Undercut that MF'er. Buy some of the microwave sandwiches, they come in a 12pk-24pk or some shit, factors out to around a buck a sando. Get the foil bags some hotdogs or empanadas come in, heat a bunch up, bring them into work, sell them for $3.50/ea and make a killing, put that MFer outta business. Show him who's boss.

Or do what I do for the kids. Get the big plastic thingies with a dozen fresh croissants, frozen sausage patties, slap an egg or two in the croissant with a slice of cheese and a microwaved sausage and profit.

I only eat fresh eggs (whites only) prepared that day and I don’t eat enough to justify preparing and putting in containers. I am interested in how long they keep in the fridge before you need to toss them though in case I want to prepare one or two Sunday night.

I’m still having the issue of trying to fry an egg keeping the yolk contained and solidified so I can cut it out although maybe it’s easier to just remove before cooking?

Eggs last 3-4 days in the fridge as-cooked, or if hard boiled, 5-7 days.

Costco croissaints last up to 10 days if you keep them in the original plastic container.

Crack egg into a container, arrange your hand like a fork, scoop the yolk out by hand, this is how it's done in the field. Source: I was a line cook at Denny's for 6 months as a teenager.

I’m pretty sure we’re going to get 3-4 chickens this spring. Fresh eggs last months unrefrigerated. My kids will eat 5-6 everyday if we make them(usually gam gam makes them 2 days a week) I’ve got some oak 8-10’ pallets I plan on ripping apart to make their structure

I was thinking log cabin/cribage type stacking, definitely off the ground and in a sunny spot in your compound

I just eat a microwave omelet at work each morning. 2 eggs, bacon bits and a cut up pre-cooked sausage round. Then I finish it down with a protein shake.

Prob going to just stack them in a way so it all fits. Don’t have much space and still have more to get…68D24CA3-93A5-4342-B97C-672D82ADBA70.jpg

I'd be worried about attracting coyotes. But, if you want to get some, Cal Ranch sells different breeds for a few bucks each.

Yup, chickens are pretty much at the very bottom of the food chain. Two legs or four, EVERYONE loves them.

    High cholesterol?

Personally I will only do the egg whites if that's how it's been served to me. But if I'm cooking, I'm eating the whole egg. I don't buy into the egg whites hype. I like my fried eggs to have a gellotonous yolk. Fuck that runny BS. The trick is just cook it longer on each side. If you cook it even longer, the yolk turns solid, like a boiled egg yolk.

Hell yeah! I was eating 3 eggs a day for breakfast, when I was unemployed. Now I'm back on nights and I don't have the time to eat eggs as often as I'd like to.
My favorite way to cook em is a scrambled omelette. Basically I just saute peppers, onions, and spinache, add meat and cheese, then eggs and scramble. Top with salsa

Having a dog and or cat can help though. My dog used to chase off lots of predators. She caught a opossum in the coup once and grabbed it by the throat.

You’re young. You won’t have to worry about cholesterol until you’re in your 40s. I’ll still have scrambled eggs or a meaty omelette once in a while but not as often as I did in the past.

I pretty much always eat 6 hard boiled eggs a week. I go to the gym in the morning three days a week, then right after i’ll gulp down 2 hard boiled eggs and a can of V8. Though i have chickens, i prefer to buy the Wilcox brand hard boiled eggs (they come sealed in a 2 pack). The V8 is salty enough that i don’t need to season my eggs, i’ll just take a small bite from the egg and then take a swig of the juice. It’s all easy enough to do while driving down the highway.
