This is my first year living here. I’m originally from New England so not a stranger to snow but interested to see how it’s handled here. People here can hardly drive in the rain lol

Having lived in Texas for a few years people either drive way too fast or too slow. Nobody shows up at work when there’s an inch or more of snow outside.

Yeah, and deadly 134-car pileups happen when it’s frozen outside because people are idiots.

6112s up front w/ 650 lb springs, 5160s in the rear, JBA UCAs, Suspension Maxx Links, ATS leafs w/ Wheeler's AAL and overload spring, Toyota Gloss Gunmetal TRD Wheels, Toyo Open Country AT3s 275/70/17
Alright guys. Got the 5160s installed. Shout out to @PenderBen . I ran to harbor freight and got a saws all and just sawed straight through the bushing and threaded portion below the washer and nut. Worked like charm but I was worried I was gonna saw thru the electrical stuff on the drivers side - see third photo. Somehow avoided it. I popped the clips up so I could at least move it around a little then zip tied it all back down when finished. The ride is really nice. I can tell that the little bounces are much better absorbed. Still not a Cadillac with the e-rated tires, but still a really nice ride and ready for anything. Pics for fun below.

    suspension officially finished

Yeah, I got the second one for my mom to replace her minivan.

It’s probably a Modern Luxury. It’s by far the most common. You can determine the trim level based on how many switches are on the dashboard:
    IMG_1819.jpg

Timing belts on these cars are the easiest out of all UZ powered vehicles. Radiator and fans come out as an assembly, and the PS pump, alternator, and AC compressor can stay in place.

Throw me any questions you got or let me know if you need help with the work you’re doing. I need to do the valve cover gaskets on my ‘02 soon- they’re bad. Let me know how it goes.

So I recall once or twice in my life where my town (about an hour south of Houston) got enough snow for it to stick around for a day or two. I couldn't tell you how much we got, but I'd bet it was like 2"

Damn. The shit part about this is, there's two of these things languishing in my area, not sure the trim, but I pass by them any time I leave my house. I've talked to both owners, and neither wants to part ways.

There's also four LX470/LC owners near me, the same year range (J100) as our trucks, I've talked to 3 of them, none of them want to part with them. "I know what I got".

Would really love to have either. Some day, I guess.

Yeah, it's best to stay off the roads here if you can during adverse winter events. Mostly because no one here knows how to drive in ice or snow and no matter how safe/confident you are on ice/snow, the trucks behind, in front, and next to you ain't.

I’d tell you to find the biggest hill to go tubing down in the snow but for Texas, it’d be the longest outside stairway covered in snow. Beer cans wrapped in fake labels are a must.

It's a big state, there's hills. You just have to know where to go. Hell there's an entire region of central TX called the hill country. But where I went to college in SETX (but about an hour north of Houston) was also really hilly. Students used to improvise sleds and play on the hills when it snowed. It used to snow in Huntsville almost every year.

Well I knew you weren’t in hill country so that’s why I said it. Sucks you gotta drive an hour. I only have to walk down the street from my house.

I mean the community college two miles away has hills. They won't for forever though. Pops was elected to the board of trustees or whatever a year or two ago and said the hills are going away. They are against some two story buildings. I guess for insulation or maybe just an architectural choice. But apparently them lower stories are starting to experience issues with water due to the hills. Hell if I know.

But there's also the hill in the middle of a field at the college, where we used to do wind sprints up and down for the police academy.

Jeebus. They changed up work and now the previously prepared sausage and egg sandwich I had which cost $4.35 now went up to $6.95 because a chef prepared it. Yeah, that model won’t be cost sustainable.
