    @BroHon ,

Here is the parts list used. Verify quantities. I believe I had a couple left over, but nbd since they were cheap.

    Rockauto reman starter: 280-0233

    Toyota: 17171-50020 x 2
    22271-50042 x 1
    90430-12026 x 5
    16341-50020 x 2
    90176-06023 x 1
    23232-41081 x 1
    90301-07037 x 1
    90430-12026 x 4
    90430-12005 x 2

Verify. I also replaced some vacuum hoses since I was there already, but your situation may be different.

Apply a light coating of lubricant (oil is fine) on all o-rings to help them slide into place and prevent damage.

I did the starter on my Lexus, which has the 3UZ. Same location and everything, but even worse since it’s down low and the car is so damn long.
    IMG_1921.jpg

Lifting the intake up and out was a major pain as it’s so heavy and needed to come out at an angle. Busted the knock sensor.
    IMG_1924.jpg

It took me all afternoon but I bet I could do it in 2 or 3 hours in the Tundra.

I think the fugliness is so you can stand up and walk around inside.

It went to Germany the way I understand it. Could have commissioned a US built vehicle. It is tax money being spent on the US Postal service. Don’t guess it would matter, they’d find a way to mess it up regardless.

I know it was a joke but I feel compelled to mention USPS is self funded.

"The Postal Service is generally self-funded. This means that no tax dollars are used to keep the lights on at its many facilities across the country. The Postal Service, instead, relies on the revenue it generates from the sale of stamps, products, and services to fund its operations"

The following is a commentary on parcel delivery services, and not a rant or commentary in any meaningful political way.

I'd ask this simple question. to frame perspective: Do you ever hear people complain about public schools or military not being profitable?

If "no", and you're upset about the USPS not being profitable, then ... congratulations. You've been a victim of propaganda.

Like education and military, two key cornerstones of our country's future and security, the USPS is national service, one which UPS, Fedex, DHL, and no other can nor wants to provide, for more than 200 years after it was established.

Those private companies don't want to provide the service because they know they cannot be profitable ensuring delivery to every single address in the USA as our forefathers and, the PRA, and similar acts over our history intended.

Not even under privatization would the service be able to turn a profit and still service every American home. If privatized, the private entity that take control would simply cut back/degrade the service to break-even, which defies the intent of the PRA in the first place, and it becomes a problem because it's inextricably tied to elections.

The original intent behind our postal service, 200+ years ago, was to ensure safe and secure communication among and between the government and every American citizen; this is not something you "make money on", it's something critical to our national survival.

It's really easy to piss on the service, especially when there's a dark group of people actively trying to sabotage it with the sole intent to privatize, so they can bastardize/exploit the service's core intent: Ensuring safe and secure communication between the people and their government.

It's important to remember one thing: The postal service was always intended to be that: A national service, to benefit the people. It was NEVER intended to be a profitable entity. You don't create beneficial services to be profitable, it's just a nice perk when they happen to be.

It's also important to realize the US Postal service isn't losing money for any reason other than a law that was enacted in 2006 to intentionally sabotage the postal service which FORCED them to pre-pay worker pensions for 75 years, amongst other things which no company in the USA does (I'm aware of).

I'll leave you to lookup which entity ensured that 2006 BS got passed, should be no shocker. Pro-tip: It's the same affiliation put DeJoy in place, who then sabotaged/nationally disassembledd flat-sorting machines that have mired the entire service since 2020, causing even more radical losses.

DeJoy is also the one responsible for dumping all the money into those electric cars above; we have yet to see if that will be a boon or bane, though. It may actually end up being worthwhile but it'll be 3-5 years before anyone can say, but it won't un-fugger-up other things.

Sorry for the PSA. This is one of those things that gets my goat. A lot of people are quick to bash on it, having little to no info on its intent, history, or how we would function without it.

And aside from all the other stuff, THIS.

This is how I know you're ignorant on a topic - when you start complaining about "wasting tax dollars" on a service that is, by law, not taxpayer funded. No better way to say, "I'm oblivious on this knowledge, I just like parroting talking points" than to claim any significant taxpayer dollars are being wasted on the service.

Since stamps are 3x what they used to be for many years that would imply they deliver 1/3 as many letters as they did in the past.
