They have the water to fill the tanks, but the tanks are not able to be filled fast enough. It's a demand issue and a problem with the district's water distribution system, not a problem with the supply of water for the distribution system. But yes, I agree it should be fixed. Massive water infrastructure upgrades will have to come out of the City budget or ratepayers pockets, plus disrupt the community, and people don't want to see their water bills go up even more when their water bills are already high enough (In CA, regulated city municipal water districts that are public such as LADWP can't profit and only charge for the costs associated with purchasing the water and maintaining the system).

Three out of four of California's major reservoirs are over 90% full and the Super Scoopers were pulling out of Lake Castaic earlier. I spent last week along the California Aqueduct and saw tons of water that's making it's way through to maintain SoCal's water supply. It sucks LADWP's distribution system isn't keeping up.

If the power goes out where I live and the pumps don't have power, eventually there wouldn't be water where I live either for the hydrants once the pressure drops low enough. The Municipal electricity charge to pump water to my house is about the same as the cost of the water commodity.

Just be safe, des. My concern is more the human and property losses. I do care. I'm not looking to win an argument.

My wife’s uncle settled in the Palisades after serving in the Navy adoring the war. He died a few years ago and one of the nouveau rich Californicators bought his small house for $1M+ and immediately demolished it to built something new.

Worse than that, the budget cut fire department has reported many places where fire hydrants didn’t have water.

No power all day but luckily the winds have died down and didn’t have to evacuate. Camping gear coming in handy today lol

How is it some of those trees show hardly any fire damage?

I was just thinking that. I think it has a lot to do with the sheer speed the fire moves. Also the structures are much drier. It's like the structure was consumed before the trees could 'catch' maybe?

I will be staying at a local resort. Not because I don't enjoy roughing it sometimes, but I don't want to rough it this time. I want all the amenities. It's that simple.
