The dollar isn't worth a shit because too many were 'printed' (added to a digital ledger) leading to monetary inflation (i.e. money supply). Those closest to the money-spigot (e.g. the managerial and political class), have access to those dollars while they have a higher valuation, and can therefore consume more goods while they're still wirth more, before the average guy gets them when price inflation has already set in. Those "above" have already consumed, and, therefore, those "below" have to pay higher prices (price inflation), because consumption of resources has already occurred, and there is, therefore, less to go around at the former price.

What you are saying is not wrong.

It doesn’t adequately describe the cause, for example, what I just mentioned with eggs. And if it does, I’m missing it. Which I admit, I may be missing at this time of night.

There is a very distinct gouging happening on common goods currently, and it’s targeted at a very specific class/economic range which the vast majority of people fall in. You can’t explain it with economics because what happening isn’t due to economics, it’s due to gamification and greed.

I encourage anyone who is able to, to raise their own chickens. Cage free, brown eggs FTW. Plus chickens are fun pets and easy to take care of. The hardest part is building a coup. But let's be honest, it's not that hard.
I haven't complained about eggs prices because I haven't paid for eggs in two and half decades. Keeping chickens fed is cheap and easy with gravity feeders. Plus they eat bugs and stuff. Give em some bread in the morning and scratch in the afternoon. Happy chickens.

I can appreciate what you're saying. They won't have to be unplugged, IMHO. There are enough people breeding that there will be more than enough populace to exploit. It's a non-issue, relative to your point, imho.

The cannibals will have plenty of meat then :D

Y'all know they make artificial human flavored meat? It's made for anthropology students IIRC.

I wonder if human is gamey or not.

I’ve read a number of survivor reports from people who’ve had to resort to cannibalism. Quite a few noted there’s just something “off” about the taste. Not necessarily gamey, like some meats can be, but similarly to how normal and gamey differ, just in a different direction. I wonder how much of it is mental, or maybe we have a gene that gives a bad taste when we eat our own, the same way Lone Star ticks carry something can make you allergic to red meat.

Lmk :rofl:ain't gonna happen in my house.

Violence is not the answer. I do not advocate that.

There's a reason they call humans "long pig". If you want to know what a human tastes like eat some pork.

Interesting. That's probably why I'm seeing a specific date of manufacture when trying to determine fitment. Toyota clearly has a specific part # application if the vehicle was manufactured up to date xxxx, then a different application from that date on. But, since you said one is a 3-hole (which I see), and a 4-hole (which I also see), I would be reluctant to apply one to the other. Not saying it can't be done. Just assumed risk.

You're not wrong. As long as credit is a thing and the power to print dollars exist, the can will be kicked down the road. And, a reckoning will follow. But, who will face the harsh effects of this reckoning? People like the members here? Or, people not like the members here? I'll leave you to answer that :)

Changes are coming that can't be reversed. It's really just a basic math problem if, you think about it.

Most Americans can't do math to save their lives. That's probably why so many are in debt. Financing shit they can't afford, because they don't understand how to calculate the interest. Percentages and decimals, oh my! :D:p Math be complicated, yo.

My buddy is financing a 2019 4Runner at 17%. I was bewildered he would sign off on that shit. I asked if he had bad credit, he said he had no credit.... WTF he's a 36 y/o Texan. I couldn't believe he had no credit. When I told em he should've just bought a cash car, he said he didn't have $9k or whatever the average cost of a V8 T4R 4x4 goes for in Houston. When I told em he could've financed a used v8 4Runner for like 7% with a down payment, he said he didn't have money for a down payment. That's when I lost it and berated him. I been trying to get him to slow down on the booze, pot, and cigs, so he can save money for like a year now. I've also been trying to teach him good saving habits. Dude makes $8 more an hour than I do and didn't have enough in savings to do shit else, but get fucked at 17%. Ironically, he's going to be legally forced to give up the booze and pot now. Too bad his 'would-be saved monies' will be paying court fees, likely probation fees, maybe a lawyer fee, and to repair his dad's Jeep.

    /Rant.

    That's horrible. I hope he's ok.

I wasn't specifically referring to a math problem in the financial sense (although that is a factor). A little reading between the lines was required.

There is another port strike looming and one of the unions main concerns is port automation. Specifically automated cranes that would replace humans with unloading containers.

"Contract talks covering 45,000 dockworkers on the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts are set to restart on Tuesday in a labor dispute that will help set the pace of automation at ports stretching from Maine to Texas.
The International Longshoremen's Association wants to eliminate past labor contract concessions on automation - notably the use of semi-automated cranes that stack containers on docks - arguing they pose a threat to jobs."
