    Grandmas Boy? Fucking hilarious.
I probably watched it 100x in college.

Closest I think I have to that is maybe Super Troopers? But that was many years after college for me.

Well, there was the original CKY (full length!), maybe Office Space, which we watched the hell out of both of, but that was also a few years after I took a semester off.

I can't think of any single movie we watched heavily during my college years. I was a pretty hardcore skate grom still way back then. This was one of our go-to jams, I swear we watched this at least 3x a week purely for inspiration. Looks like they had to cut some of the songs out probably due to copyright BS. Such a kickass video.

So much of my musical taste was shaped from watching skate videos.

That track on the Tony Ferguson piece, I think 3 or 4 skaters in, made me fall in love with Hieroglyphics. Such a good song. Their album '93 til Infinity is one of those albums I've popped in for people who say, "I don't like that hip hop shit!" and changed quite a few minds. This isn't their best, but was a good song that highlights their love of words.

I love comedy movies. Definitely my preferred media, followed by hardcore/deathmatch wrestling lately haha

I loved Revenge of the Nerds and the sequels and Airplane. Animal House and Blues Bros were decent, definitely a slow burn, for me anyways

They weren’t exactly my pick. Just the typical movies the seniors showed the freshman in the first year since we were all living in a coed suite. I never made it to the 2nd year since I couldn’t get financial aid, but that’s a different story.

Lol they were turning and Elvira would've smoked em.

Thinking I might want to change her diff fluid this weekend since it's been about 500 miles since the 4.10's. I want to see if there's any metal flakes. Also I need to retorque her u-bolts.

If you're up to it we can throw that AAL on Penelope. I don't think I'm going to swap the 1" block for the 0.5" block on Elvira. I think the AAL should be plenty extra for Penelope. What do you think?

So the Level 8 MK6 is out of stock, the FN/Koenig Countersteer Type X is out of stock... 9six9 Six-1 are nice but heavier than these two I've been considering now...

Y'all got me thinking with these removable simulated beadlocks, with the way that I tend to chew up reeeims on rocks. The brolocks ain't so dumb if they're interchangeable. I'd really prefer an 8" wide wheel, but 8.5" wide doesn't seem bad. I'm a little timid about the 9" wide.

Edit: I just pulled the trigger on the MST Time Attacks. Will be pairing with my TRD center caps that I been saving since 2018.
Now I just need to aquire a spare KK RT (and get to installing all my new parts along with any necessary clearancing.)
There's two used KK's north of downtown with half tread for $130 for the pair.
The guy in Lake Jackson that sold me the first pair for $250, with less than 10k miles on em, said he hadn't replaced his Gladiator's spare KK with a Toyo 37" yet, but would sell it to me once he did.
The guy in Cypress where I got the other pair for $180 with probably 15k-20k miles on em said he'd sell me his other pair once he replaces them. So now it's a waiting game or I can grab those 2 in NE Houston.

I doubt you'll see anything worth worrying about at only 500 miles. The last however many times i've had new r&p gears installed, i've never bothered to change the diff oil after i had them broke in. I usually wait until i drive the truck (or jeep) underwater multiple times...or when i go to install another set of gears that are even lower than the ones i just had installed.

I been doing burn outs and attemtping to set new 0-60 & 8th mile records, via the Track Addict app. (That's another story though.) I figure it would be good piece of mind. The guy who installed my gears told me to do it after 1k. So I guess I'll wait a for two more tanks of gas.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
I don't remember it real clearly but our "rural" scene was in the late 70s into early 80s. Plywood ramps, a friend built a huge half pipe in their back yard... eventually added 8' of vert, it was pretty insane. I never got that good. I was goofy footed. I saw the transition to wide boards, don't remember that I had one though. Dogtown/Alva/Z-flex/Kryptonics. Boston/Kansas/Nazereth/Styx were kind of our go to.. rocking on the portable 8-track player in the beginning.

Funny so many of you have a skateboarding background. I lived on a skateboard from about age 10-17. I didn't know it at the time but the skate industry heavily influenced me in music, the arts, and being unapologetically myself.

I still keep a board around and lately I've been casually relearning all the standard flip tricks. Its a whole different experience being twice the age.

These were the skateboards of my time as a kid. Pathetic IMO compared to the ones made only 10 years later.

    IMG_1264.jpg

Back then I was more into making BMX bike jumps and trying to kill myself jumping off them. :D

Penny skateboards is making a damn near identical copy of that that's pretty popular.

I switched over to BMX full time when I started driving. Only stopped a few years ago when I realized that I am going to live longer than I ever intended and I needed to start limiting how often I throw myself into the concrete.

Really? I don’t see the appeal of something so unstable; at least for beginners.

Agreed. The short wheelbase and skiiiiiny board are a challenge.

I think it's the price point, 29.99 on Amazon.

It is! And it's definitely weirder because I weigh about 25-30% more than when I dropped off the radar. Started at age 10 also, when we lived in TX. Started to taper off in my mid-20s thanks to "real job" taking up too much of my time.

But still have a deck for me and a deck for the kids, and occasionally extercise both. A few fliptricks still in my blood, despite the added weight and slightly different balance, heelflips and kickflip 180s are still a 50/50 or better I'll land it. Straight kickflips or 360 are maybe 1 in 10?

@BroHon I remember the huge snubnose whale tail decks Alva was making way back when (Dogtown had a few too, IIRC) and how silly it seemed, but I rode more street than ramp, and launch ramps or quarters more than half. And a few other oddballs, the Hosoi decks I think Vision made had weid shapes, and the Caballero/PP decks that were fish-shaped. I remember when doubletail decks started rolling out, I refused to switch. "I don't want to learn how to skate switch! Nollie tricks are stupid! I'm not Rodney Mullen, I don't want to skate a freestyle deck!" but eventually gave in.

I'd mentioned it before but when Dad got stationed at Miramar and we lived in Poway, Tony Hawk was around the corner in Fallbrook, he came over a few times to the Target shopping center on Pomerado Rd and would do small demos for the kids. All the little groms would show up, wide-eyed. It was a couple blocks from my old house, the record store where I bought most of my music was in the same shopping center, along with a TCBY (I think that was the brand).

And we had one of these in banana yellow also! I don't remember if it was a Sizzler or not. But it had lines embossed in it from left to right, front to back and orange or brick colored wheels.
