It is a good looking truck. I actually just chose the image at random. That is the color I'm going with in a flat finish.

Pink is not an option. But you may save it for a potential poll

Yes, he put his own creative stamp on it and made it unique. I like it. Not the direction I'm going, but I can appreciate it.

Personally, I like the bronze look. Black is so overdone today and silver/gray doesn’t match, IMO.

BTW, Due to a previous/successful storm damage paint repair on my white truck, I will be going with brushed on oil based RustOlium white satin when I repair my rusty rear wheel wells. Scotchbright a brush, and the Whole box is going to be red neck new. All that to say satin/or flat is growing on me.

Calculator app on my phone. Reset the trip meter every time I fill up. Total mileage on that tank divided by the number of gallons you put into the tank. Now depending on tire size it can vary a little.

I seen a couple users using apps and it keeps a log too. I calculated it by hand regularly. I prefer to use an app to keep a log for each vehicle.

Fuelly has been around for years, but I'm not sure if they have an app. Their web site lets you track your mileage over time.

My question is every time you fill up, when the filling creates back pressure to get you to stop pumping, how accurate is that from one fill to the next?

Good question. I filled up last week and I'm at 85 miles and I'm almost to 1/2 tank, which is very unusual. Not sure if it's because it's been cold in the morning so I been letting it warm up, or if it's the 4.10's/tune, or winter blend fuel, or too many hard pulls. Probably all those combined. My truck sometimes makes the pump stop at stupid times. Not sure why.

Should be when the fuel level reaches the nozzle. When filling up motorcycle tanks you've always gotta keep the nozzle out of the fuel, and if you're in a state that has the stupid hoses over the nozzle, it's a pain in the ass to hold back the hose far enough while keeping the nozzle out of the fuel.

My guess is it most likely doesn't vary more than several ounces.

My fuel economy is not great either. I think that I average about +- 250 miles per tank though.

Here's what auto magazines/companies/etc do when they calculate the real-world MPG:

    Fill until it clicks
    Wait 30 seconds
    Fill until it clicks again

I do this and it's proven to be pretty accurate I think. The second click always add around 0.3 gallons after the initial fill up. It's pretty consistently 0.3, +/- 0.05.

I only fill all the way so I can calculate MPG. Since most of the driving I do is on the highway, I normally use the entire tank between fill ups.

Typically I can get to 330 or so before the fuel light comes on in my 03. But I think maybe the pump shut off early or I just been too much of a lead foot this week.

I've almost always topped my tank off whenever I fill up. Only exception has been in remote ($$$) spots for enough to get back to a cheaper location.
