    When I was a much younger hoodlum, I used to drive friends around to various hotspots to yoink 4ft tanks. Party balloons and ... man, sometimes I wonder if I could've been the next Einstein had I not killed off all those brain cells...

    If you're willing to refurb a set of links, I thought I heard someone say they had a pair that needs bushings and a top nut. Maybe it was @des2mtn, but I could be wrong.

    I can tell you the bushings you need to order, their kit is parrt SMX-LRKT, I talked to them directly over the phone to order. Very reasonable, excellent service, and they sent me a free hat as a Thanksgiving gift. Excellent American company I'll continue to support w/other projects.

    Damn. Wish this was in Charcoal grey.

    I'd be good if I could just get a new driver upper/lower and armrest with matching leather. I've been strongly considering pulling my driver seat and carrying it to my local upholsterer to have him stitch in replacement bolsters, but i'm sure he'd charge me more than what dude is asking for that whole set. They do stupidly good work though.

    I had the outside bolster, a stretch of fabric redone and they rebuilt the lumber/back support cause some of the rods were broken at my local upholstery shop and they only charged me $120. I didn’t even have to take the seat out! May be cheaper than you think

    I'll hafta give 'em a holler one of these days. The shop I go to in East Point does a lot of hotrods and such. I had them redo stuff over the years, but even sun visors they wanted like $180 for both.

    I tried my hand at some seat repair this summer and it went well. There were numerous videos about how to do this on YouTube so I got the confidence to give it a shot. My wife's Lexus gx470 had a torn driver seat bottom. I purchased 2 front lower seat synthetic leather covers for $40 and matching pair of arms rest covers for $20 off eBay. They were a good match to the original leather. I pulled out the lower leather front seat covers and installed the new seat covers over a weekend. It really wasn't too bad of a job. I had purchased hog rings with pliers but decided to just use zip ties. This worked well. The arm rest covers were installed over the old leather covers and you'd never be able to tell. Zero regrets going this route and the all in price was great. My one tip is start by attaching the front of the seat cover to the frame and then move to the back of the seat.

    Is the Toyota parts website broken for anyone else? It does this if I try to look it up or use the link in the parts thread.

    Yeah, it's been down for a few days. Looks like their SSL cert was bad (or similar), but I didn't dig. Been that way since at least Thursday. I had to use www.amayama.com to look up my parts. Not as easy of a tool to use, but still better than Toyota's current atrocity of a website.

    EDIT: Actually someone renewed their cert finally on yesterday 11/16, but it looks like they failed to restart Apache or IIS or whatever they're running, or they haven't configured something properly on their end after.

    I am disappointed to share, as I was cleaning my Methods tonight and removing all the wheel weights and adhesive… the faux bead lock is actually fake, cast in. It isn’t removable as I’d originally thought. The lip inside the ring makes it feel like it’s a separate piece, but closer inspection of the bead, it’s quite clear, it’s all cast.

    All this time, what a ruse. I guess I’m not so disappointed now that my Rocktrix are also cast. Now I wish someone actually made bolt-on bash guards for all these wheels for rash incidents. But I guess you’d need to get the wheels rebalanced after bolting on a new ring, or removing/reinstalling, or even moving (or removing) the existing hardware…

    @FirstGenVol you swapped your wheel bolts out for another color, right? Any change in balance after that?

    So we know the TRD Baja/Trail Teams have removable "simulated beadlocks", but the Methods do not. How about SCS?

    While I completely agree, the time and the funds at the moment mean I'm just gonna have to take the risk and leave it be.

    The pizza cutters (cant remember what size you are on 255/85/16?) and offset of the OEM Patrick wheels just plain work with the suspension travel and available space for the tire to stuff into the body.

    @DarkMint
    for reference this is not enough fender to wheel clearance. When you stuff a tire hard into the body you're not going anywhere!

    I've still gotta do that fender-otomy sometime :rofl:
