Now you’re pulling a Tundra2? Might want to take up autobody work or you’ll be owing your friends a lot of favors.

Sorry to hear, man. That does suck though.

This is why I only carry liability on my Tundras. I've seen it too many times. You need to collect and they throw you a procedural obstacle course. They "fine print" you to death. Insurance companies are no different from casinos. They play the odds and the odds are in their favor. All those hi-rise insurance company buildings are paid for with insurance premiums.
A guy from out of state moved here and built a mansion. He said he was going to spend 15 million. The money came from people who didn't calculate the odds.

I mean, you can technically over-insure to cover the gap. Pretty sure some on here do that, I believe @FirstGenVol does. It's what I've done w/Hagerty on my classic/hotrod/custom projects in the past. It doesn't add a ton to the premium.

Gimmick, but great at pissing people off. I hear people screaming their way down the highway next to my paren'ts house in AL all the time. We'll be sitting by the bonfire outside, chilling, and you hear the fuckers coming. Probably 1 out of ever 40-50 vehicles.

4 this body’s style yes. But no spare driver side fenders. I have 3 passenger fenders.. no driver side ones. Go figure. No damage to the core support. So it’s hang a new fender and headlight assembly and repaint the bumper if I can’t find a new bumper I’ll have to live with the crease. The bumpers are pure unobtanium

LBK = Long Boat Key, NPR = New Port Richey. Didn't mean to be throwing around so many acronyms.

LBK is where Whitney Beach is, which is where we used to hang when we'd visit my folks in Bradenton. Parents lived in Bayshore Gardens 4-5 blocks north of the park on the bay.

My friend's parents have a condo on the west side of LBK, a block or three north of the Publix. That's where they were staying while their house in Sarasota was being renovated, and where they rode out Helene. It did a number to LBK, he mentioned a section of road missing, no power for days, Publix was closed and anyone who left the key risked not being able to get back on again? St Armand's circle was a wash, underwater, then sand everywhere, businesses would need to be gutted. He's pretty disgusted with the state representatives voting down FEMA aid, and the governer refusing to cooperate on aid relief for optics reasons.

Overnight, it appears Milton has spun up even faster to become the 4th most powerful hurricane ever recorded, and the eye has reduced to less than 4 miles wide. If it collects even more speed as it crosses the warm waters of the Gulf, and stays on trajectory, it's looking to be a direct hit right around Hyde Park in Tampa, which will obliterate much of everything from north St Pete down to Punta Gorda, most likely? With the worst damage being on the south side of the eye, and gradually reducing as you get toward Ft Meyers. NOAA's entry point has shifted slightly south in the last 24 hours, by a couple of miles. It originally was entering dead in the mouth of Tampa Bay, now it's more toward the bottom of the mouth.

My folks got tired of the shit while evacuating for one of the hurricanes a few years back, right after mom had a partial knee replacement. They ended up in S. Alabama and liked what they saw west of Dothan, liked the benefits AL provides for retirees. When mom ripped her stitches getting out of Dad's Tundra, it got infected, had to have a chunk of flesh removed, it was the last straw for them. So they spruced up the house, put it on the market, and moved, probably around 2017-2018 timeframe? To a tiny town about 45 minutes west of Dothan surrounded by feed corn, cotton, and peanut farms.

I spent a good 20 years of my life all over FL between the Bay and Jacksonville, on both coasts, and all thru the middle. We won't go back. It was always a little crazy, but it's really turned into a shithole. You get desensitized to the storms, the same way New Yorkers get desensitized to people being around, all the time. The growing prevalence of "Florida Man" types, mixed with corrupt political interests and corrupt business nonsense, it's too much. I hated Atlanta when I first moved here, but I gotta say: At least the people are generally sane up here, even in the heart of the city.

Current course .... you can see the top crest of the Tampa Bay at the top of the M, unless my geography is off.

The cars insured for 25000. With paint and parts I’m expecting 5000. Mostly because used bumpers are easily 1000

Some good deals on the jungle river website today. Picked up a Iceco vl45 for 25% off. Really only around 20% off based on the price history over the last year.

Talked myself out of the dual zone 60 as its just a little too large to package behind the passenger seat. I don't even have a fridge in the house right now anyway

Yeah.. I did that dance on a 1982 Silverado for about a year before trucks were popular. Most recent one was on a rabbit truck totaled from the rear. I would have sued, but they had the same insurance carrier... mobsters doesn't cover.

Not currently. Since I don't have any experience with them I'm not super comfortable writing about them in depth. If someone who has had experience with them wants to write something for the thread, I'm all for it.

Also, how common are issues with manual Tcases? I haven't heard of a ton but I don't pay a lot of attention.

I've seen plenty of photos and warnings about the LBJs. In fact, those threads are all I can seem to find using the search feature on the 1st Gen Forum. Is there a thread that covers the actual replacement of the LBJs?
