Yeah, they can definitely deal some serious damage. He saved my life, or at least me from serious harm that day. I returned the favor many years later, but thats a story for another time.

They were scootin along pretty good.

I think about your bumper more, and more each day... just with the full hoop...

I mighta missed something in there, what's the story behind the barn/storage diving? Family property, you pick in spare time, or ??

I'm always hunting for vintage bicycles (post-WW2), seeing pics like those from this little adventure make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

    Its on the agenda... eventually.

I'm hesitant on mounting possibilities, and on the wiring. (Wiring being my biggest weakness.)

I will agree that the light bar is more "spot-light" like than what was advertised, but in person I can see more on the peripherals than what the camera can pick up.

I want ditch lights, and the bigger version of @FirstGenVol's bumper.

If they do as great of a job the welds that they did on his... I would feel very comfortable spending that sort of moo-la on a high quality item like that.

Anyone else use cheap gas and experience shitty/ rough idle and coasting in drive? I was below a quarter tank on cheap speedway gas and my truck was idling like shit and sputtering. I put good ol 90 octane from bp and its fine now

I don’t know how you guys do these loud exhausts. Getting stuck next to these Goofy Drone Guys on the highway is enough to drive me nuts. Neighbor across the street has a Jeep with a Droner. Super loud when cold.:annoyed:

Think I might start some PsyOps on this guy. :D

Also looked at a DC. It was worse.

I use to travel with a 5 wheel for work, people in the campgrounds hated my Cummins. Tuned & deleted with a 5 inch straight pipe w/ a 6 inch tip.plus a dual disc south bend clutch that chatters like nobody’s business. She makes a lot noise:anonymous:

They think Death Valley may have hit the highest temperature ever recorded on earth today, 133. In 1913 they have a record of 134 but they are somewhat certain that was wrong. So this is likely the record. I cannot imagine what 133 feels like.

The bottom of the 3 isn't working on their sign.

Edit- Reddit may have lied about this being the single hottest. Wikipedia has some other numbers.

Not exactly First Gen related, but since I hang out here a lot, I thought I'd share

So my 80 has been parked for 4 years or so. Shortly after replacing the PHH, radiator, radiator hoses, etc., I blew one of the bypass hoses that connects to the underside of the throttle body. Of course no one warned of that, like they warned of the PHH. I had recently purchased a 2006 Tundra AC 4wd Limited so the Land Cruiser sat. Then one cold night (I'm in SoCal so we're only talking low 40's) my power steering fluid puked all over my driveway. My assumption is the hose between reservoir and pump is so hard, the clamp couldn't keep pressure on the pump connection when the metal pump shrunk more the the rock hard hose. Then life and health issues got in the way. I've decided to start bringing her back to life. I’ve ordered $200 worth of replacement cooling hoses as well as power steering and transmission hoses. After that I need to rehab the brake hydraulics. Then a lift kit (leaning towards the Icon stage 1, 3") and tires. This will be a moderately built trail rig. I hope to have it on the road in about 6 months or so depending on available cash and health.

After the long intro, it begins with degreasing the engine and replacing the hood & hatch struts. Behold a reasonably clean engine bay and self supporting hood!

Just got done with a little solder job for the base of the flag pole. Trying to use up as many of these little 12V bulbs as possible.

Mines annoying on the highway... but eventual cutouts will solve this. I do love me a good engine note
