I'm gonna quote myself and tag @khooiii in case you didn't see this. Just curious what you got going on with that radio and making sure if you're giving up on it that it doesn't make it to the trash bin.

Yeah. Boy said name it Donut. He originally said Bacon but that was one of the SHOs names, since I bought it from a cop.

Filled up my Tundra at the local Smallmart and a white 2003 RCLB pulled up next to me. The guy told me he just bought it and it’s his work truck. He told me he paid $2500 and it had 330K. Nice truck but definitely looked like a work truck with hydraulic lift gate and torn up driver seat. Is told him I would definitely change the TB and LBJs and he replied “nah I’m good, it’s runs well and suspension seems tight. I wished him luck…

A lot of people will not replace anything unless they have to. Eventually he'll be installing new Moog LBJ's in a parking lot somewhere. He'll reuse the original bolts.

I had 332k on mine when we did Panhandlemonium. That suspension is NOT tight.

One other thing on a touchscreen is reading the reviews carefully when it comes to sun/reflectiveness/daytime visibility. I can’t see a gd thing on my screen between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00.

None of the buttons function like they’re supposed to. Both volume buttons turn the volume down. Option, seek track, and voice button all turn the volume up. Home button works but triggers a menu. The ATT function kicks in on and off and doesn’t allow accurate volume adjustment. Songs will not play more than 2 seconds before restarting. Remote with new battery doesn’t work minus the off button which pauses the music. I’ve had issues since I bought the truck but just restarted the head unit every once in a blue moon. This last spiel isn’t worth fixing. I’m ready to take a bat to it and just move on.

My old Xbox one(1st release) would do irritating shit. Not play games, not accept disks, not eject disks, all that shit. It finally pissed me off for the last time so I took it out and beat it with a baby sledge. Office space irl. Do it. It'll make you feel better.

Me and my friends did this at the park across from our neighborhood several times. One friends dad had a ton of old computer shit taking up space in the garage and he let us destroy some of it.
Typical weapons were bats and sometimes we'd throw free weights through monitors

Interesting. I never have this issue with my Alpine W650. Clear as day, all day, and not too bright at night.

That is a tough looking truck. For daily use, I don’t like quite that much tire poke. Anything more than 1/2” or so outside the fenders gets to be trouble with keeping the truck clean and rock throwing. I can’t afford to do that with a brand new truck, just to tear it up, although I suspect this one will be terrorizing a mall parking lot near you. Plus, the bro-dozer scene I dont wanna be a part of….

It’s really fun when using nav feature trying to see whether to turn here in two blocks and all you can see is a perfectly-mirrored image of your backseat.

Is the screen glossy or matte?

I've seen people bitch their Alpine W650/W670to mine is heinous when you apply the matte screen protector to it. Basically becomes unusuable.

It’s naturally matte on the Boss. I remember another thing I hate about it; the first one I bought had a volume knob and when it quit synching with CarPlay, Crutchfield took it back, but it was no longer available so they sent me the comparable one (which at least has clicky buttons for mute and volume up/down).

I will likely upgrade when my oldest starts driving and I’ll swap my Boss into the first-gen Sequoia we buy together.

Do you know about this hack? Something I learned working in my industry, doing physical security work. It actually works better than this with clear magic tape. I wonder if you could get a clear glossy screen protector and lay it over your matte screen and do similar?

Im on the fence. The idea of a new truck is pretty appealing right now with how much I spend a month on this FG.

My W650 glare is bad during daylight hours. Screen is super glossy. I’ve been meaning to try a matte screen cover.
