That's really cool. I love communities that do things like this for each other. It's a really cool thing.

I can get you more info on the car when I'm at work tomorrow. If you send me the VIN then I can pull up the service history on it and current mileage.

Only tracks if they went to a Toyota service center though.

Title jumping, happens pretty frequently. Most do it to avoid paying taxes and so they don't get flagged as a dealer.

Is there a new motor I can buy or all that’s possible is a used low mileage swap? My truck feels like it is losing power, still gets me from A to B but I feel like it’s losing performance and I’m wondering with how many miles it has if it’s worth it or should I just run it until it finally gives up. One of the spark plugs has a timesert repair and I’m wondering if that could also be the issue but wouldn’t it throw a code?

These are literally million mile motors. Most just need routine maintenance in order to keep going and running smooth.

no I understand I think my truck has around 350k on it. I bought with unknown mileage, the Toyota records show that in 2017 it had 280k on it and when I bought it the odometer read 147k idk how many miles are exactly on it. Like I said though it doesn’t give me any problems just feels off compared to my previous truck (06 tundra access cab)

My 03 has 350k miles and runs like a top, because it's got new spark plugs, a few new coil packs, all new fluids, new timing belt & water pump, new fuel filter, a few new sensors, new injectors, new valve cover gaskets, etc.
When I bought it with 330k, it had two misfires, bad cats, bad alternator, some leaks, etc.

Are you sure there isn't an underlying issue that needs to be addressed? I wouldn't replace the engine unless it's blown.

Sometimes I'm jealous of the 4"-6" DB lift crowd. But then I remember how center of gravity works. Nice truck though. Must be a broverlander.

I think I’ll just take the lumps and roll with the car. I spent half the morning replacing the rear brakes. A bad must have disintegrated and the passenger side piston was doing all the stopping by clamping the rotor. The car is really nice miles be damned and it’s spot less inside. The driver seat looking dark spot is from me today.

Not going to lie though the 4.7 in the 4Runner runs smoother at 259k than my FGT at 169k with new tb, plugs etc

4rs are nice….. shorter wheel base, they are fun machines.
If it’s a non off-roading trip, we take the 4r. It did well zipping in and out of socal traffic.

Just did new spark plugs and coils, I’m working on new fluids all around, oil gets changed every 5k and just fixed an oil leak coming from oil cooler. I have been thinking about doing the dirty deeds injectors and I have some other maintenance things I’ve been working on but nothing that would impact performance.

I mean look at that gear. Not a speck of dust on it. Not a scratch. My shit gets worked, and looks like it. Couldn't imagine strapping that much stuff to my truck that I was never gonna use. Just to look cool at the outlet mall?

It was clean and untouched. I didn't even see any old caked on mud or dust under it or around it. I'm not sure that I understand the appeal of buying all of that gear just for looks considering how much all of that had to cost. My beginnings of being in the lower middle class most of my life left me a bit frugal and it's hard for me to spend money on myself. I beat myself up for a while just for buying my AK, much less $10k+ in overlanding gear on a pavement princess.
