I plan to put a Sequoia front sway bar on my 03 AC at some point. It's a lowered street queen, so the thicker sway bar should be nice for hooning.

Those would look sexy on my truck haha.
But 17 is too small for what I'm going for with this build.

I could have these for $147/ea shipped to my door, after tax and shipping ($588 total). Got the cart loaded. Knockoffs of the Methods I have. Machined gunmetal would match a lot of stuff... But it's not gold. Fuck it. If I'm looking at $400-500 for used wheels, may as well go new for $80 more, right? I paid $1k for four of the Racelines. How shitty are these RockTrix, I hear everyone call them "scAmazon specials".

    If it makes you happy...

I'd personally go for some cheap OEM take-offs. I paid $230 for five GX wheels with tires two years ago. Reminds me I need to rotate my tires and get an alignment sooner than later. I'm not looking forward to the day I have to replace these tires, but it's coming up.

I've been hunting, believe me. Everything worthwhile is ultimately 4 hours round trip, which puts me out another $150 in gas. My last fillup was 21gals @ $72. I've been looking for roughly 4 weeks on tires and wheels (separately) and planning to buy up whatever pops out. Everything I'm finding either offers a sub-optimal price point (i.e. $350 on the cheapest-end for something that needs work, or $500-600 for something ready to rock) or a sub-optimal offset (i.e. 5.0+). Anything that comes with tires costs me dismount/disposal/remount and all that other BS.

I'm thinking I'm just going to call it a day and order up. I can get $800 out of this setup pretty easily if needed.

@shifty` may help may not. I went in with the mindset of spending 2gs on wheels and tires + additional. Made the process more palatable. @455h0le_dachshund is definitely on point about the headaches of having to replace/balance tires down the road. :violent:

Well, I'll put it like this.

First I spent $1k on one set of wheels, then another $1k on e-rated oversized 275/70r17 tires.

Had some regrets about those wheels immediately, so bought the actual wheels I wanted for $1,400 and sold the other pair for $600 with less than 50 miles on them after sitting on sale posts for an eternity (like 6 months?). Painful -$400 lesson.

I'm now testing a few things and picked up slightly larger (+0.2" dia, +0.4" width) c-rated 285/70r17 tires for what'll likely pan out to a net of $200, now need a spare set of compatible wheels to throw those on. Something for city driving, and save the meaty Mickeys for offroad.

That's ultimately the drive behind all this. I could theoretically be into these barely-used 285s on new-new wheels for around $790 before mount/balance. Which ain't bad considering my previous two setups ran closer to $2600 and $3k after mount and balance.

That's ultimately the motivation and backstory.

I'll probably regret this too, but fuck it, they're having a sale, free shipping and no tax, I found a 5% coupon, and there's only 8 left in stock.

Paint-matched rear bumper is gonna hafta wait.

They're damn near identical in design to the MR315's I'm rolling with now. The top ears of the corn kernel cutouts are a little more rounded on the RT111. Otherwise ...

I'll be curious if the bash guard bolt pattern is the same between the MR315 and RT111.

Man you've pulled a complete 180 after having to have a very specific wheel color for months. I don't even recognize you :D

What 285 tire did you pick up? KO2?

Not quite the same boat as you, but I'm planning to be a dummy and move onto a new set of wheels/tires too. I have already bent two of my Methods and one has a crack from when my brakes went out.

    https://www.relationsracewheels.com...-toyota-tacoma-4runner?variant=40617373007954

It's gonna be a little spendy, but I like the look of this versus anything Raceline or KMC offers.

They always look different in person. Image I posted is stock, I don’t think that’s what my actual MR315 look, and I suspect the larger hub bore on the RT111 will see a different wheel coming to me also. There is no double-jump curve on my Methods, I don’t think.

I picked up some Wildpeak AT3W. (Used, but gently, 2-3yo, minimal wear, Jeep takeoffs, with Taktix steel 17s)

I’m keeping my Methods. I love them. They really sing to me on the truck. However, I want to run a wider wheel with a less rigid and likely lighter tire for a little bit to see if it’s less harsh. I’d have preferred a 17x8 wheel, but this is a great offset for 17x9, so …

Main goal is to run these for a while. If I like the feel, I’ll probably swap the Mickeys onto the RockTrix, and save them for trail/offroad, and rock the Methods as dailies.

Cool, I'm in San Diego. There's a Big Bear meetup at the end of September, but happy to give a hand wrenching or wheel whenever.

The Southwest, I tend to camp out of my truck for weeks at a time, mostly in AZ these days.
