As cool as that would be, I already have other turbo projects. My tundra needs to be my daily.

The only product review is a 1-star saying "I want my money back. This product is a phab-racation. Video, to follow."

    Not exactly confidence-inspiring.

Anyone know the part number for our auto tranny 2001 v8 drain plug and washer? Mine is active skeeetchy. Whenever i unscrew it breaks loose, then i can turn it by hand then it gets stiff again, have to use my wrench to get it off. Same thing happens vice versa. Hoping a new drain plug and washer will fix that for the a340e tranny. Thanks

Sounds almost like it's cross-threaded, either the hole or the bolt.

I've been reluctant to post this because I don't know if it will happen. Since my wife and I are both working from home she's pushing hard for us to drive all the way to the West Coast and back, camping along the way. We would both need reliable internet so I've been researching like a mad man. Thats why I mounted the fridge slide. I'm currently working on the bed storage. I bought a 4" memory foam topper and a Jackery 500.

We have friends in Omaha, Ne Granby CO and Vancouver WA we can stay with.

    Things I still need:

    • Mobile hotspot
    • WeBoost
    • Awning- found a used one
    • Complete bed platform- in progress
    • Install sliders- currently being powder coated
    • Brake upgrade- TBD

These are the bed boxes I'm working with.

Not sure who you have service through, but I will say T-Mobile has some of the best data services and data rates I've found, not just with the mobile hotspot, but also lots of wifi coverage across the country in and around cities. I'm stuck with AT&T due to work, and before that Verizon. My parents camp a lot and have Verizon for data services, using their phones as hotspots, which is something a lot of providers offer. Many phones can act as a hotspot.

I was a T-Mo customer until some years ago and I've heard from T-Mo using friends it's only gotten better since I left. But yeah - I guess if you haven't already, you may want to see what your provider to see what they offer for your device and plan to do an add-on this way, or to get a standalone hotspot. Else consider another provider like T-Mo?

Poor lil guys we’re just getting some water by the base of the tree. We’re not exterminators, but we CAN come out and caution the area off.......easy money!

dope! Sounds like a great time. Verizon offers free mobile hotspot with their phone plans, that’s what I use for my home internet connection.

I know I'm kinda scared..the bolt threads seem fine. It tightens just fine, so idk I'm too scared to service my transmission again tbh. My fluid has been perfectly pink every single time ive done it 3 times in 1 year already, so I'm gonna hold off until next year probably and hopefully the it doesnt happen with the new bolt, or hopefully it does the same thing and just tightens again

Sounds like a rethreading tap and die would fix it up. They aren't made to cut new threads but just to clean up existing ones. I've used it them pretty frequently but not on a drain plug.

You're going to go down a rabbit hole with the hotspot. Your biggest issue will be data caps and network prioritization. As much as I hate Verizon they do have a good network, ATT is probably close behind.
That weBoost is good for phone and text but data speed will still be iffy. If you'll be stationary when using it I'd set up a 2 directional yagi antennas instead. It'll be far cheaper than buying a booster.
If you'll be on major interstates you shouldn't have too much of an issue while traveling.

This also assumes the hotspot or router you're using has an antenna port. Figure out what service you want first since not all equipment works on all the bands. The www.ltehacks.com forum is a good place to start reading. There's a couple turn key solutions like www.unlimitedville.com www.ubifi.net and https://bixwireless.com/ are a few.

That's what my wife keeps saying. COVID has provided a once in a lifetime opportunity. Her work is letting her stay home permanently and my job is keeping us home through January 4th at the earliest. I actually have 3 weeks of PTO I have to use before January 1st.

    Go on....

Our plan would be hotels/AIR BNB's 60% of the time and camping 40%. We will have to go where the internet connection is.

Missus and I talked about doing the same with the kids. We're both remote right now and the kids' school is remote through October at least.

    Yup.

Basically LTE signals leave the tower in an X pattern so two antennas at 90° to each other will theoretically give you the best signal. This assumes you find the nearest tower and there are minimal obstructions. Something like this again assuming the device you're using has antenna inputs.

    At least three ways.

Rental car: out of state plates, tell-tale tamper proof key ring holding both key fobs sticking out of the ignition, and the "no smoking" round stickers on the center stack.

Nah, for reals. Its totally not a rental. I'm not at the lake again and doing shenanigans. I didn't rent a minivan for me, my gf, and the 4 kids between us.

But, seeing as how I did a bunch of shit last time I was at the lake I may see if I can get us a 1st gen mod. What do y'all think?

My wife keeps trying to talk me into this but she wants to drive to Louisiana and back. Problem is I need a lot more monitor than a laptop to work, and I'm far too busy at work right now. We're both working from home.

    Do it if you're able.

I still need to polish those sensors around the timing belt area. And those leaking cams seals are ruining my feather dusters.

If I was still working from home, we'd be across the county in the motorhome. that sounds so fun, especially for a short period of time.
