1st Gen. Lunch Table - General Discussion

You, me and @BroHon alike. I was just out picking bunches of grapes and large tomatoes, I need to go out and pick cherry tomatoes but the mf'in skeeters are eating my ass alive. Too lazy to put deet lotion on.

 

I’ve talked about it before(to myself) but it’s a large investment off that bat; I’d like to get a aqua ponics setup going one day, maybe even raise some eating fish too

 

I would too. I’d like to start growing vertically hydro, maybe in stacked shipping containers. It’s ultimately what everything is coming to these days.

We’re doing alright with soil grown, have been since I was little. But I’d like less work with more controlled yield.

Wouldn’t grow maters though, they go everywhere. Ours this year climbed the 10’ trellis I have setup, and the beans tethered the tomato vines to the trellis. We have some killer beefsteaks almost bigger around than I can palm just coming ripe, I can’t wait!! Also, today’s picks for grapes and maters below. Those two maters are smaller than a softball, I think those are maybe Better Boys. We have a mystery cherry that came up next to some rosemary that has some coming ripe, curious what those will be.

I have a new OEM emblem that the dude from craigslist threw in (along with a fender), when I bought my current grill for the 03. The grill emblem is too small for the 03-06 grill and didn't fit my dad's second gen taco either.

Yeah @empty_lord has one like that. He said the base model work trucks came with the older style steel bumper in the 03-06. Pretty neat caveat.

 

We’re on 1.75 acres. Plenty of growing ground for gardens. Lots of sunshine, lots of water. We have banana trees and pineapples. Tomatoes, jalapeños, herb garden etc. we only planted 2 big tomato plants and they went ham. The Jalapeños have been a little disappointing, but they grow late into the season, so maybe they’ll hit their stride. Our basil and rosemary are bumper crop as well.

I keep the box set of Just Shoot Me in my off-roading rig, to pop into my Pioneer when I can't sleep at camp.

PS4 is old news, hell I'm pretty sure the PS6 is just around the corner. But I don't see any point in investing hundreds in new consoles when they aren't that much better that the previous generation these days. I'd much rather buy bargain bin PS4 games than spend $70 a pop on PS5 games. The games I buy may all be old now, but they're still new to me and they're still fun.

 

I'd love more land. I have 1/6 acre to work with and house covers 40% of that, driveway eats another 10% or so, and drainage ditch takes even more.

FWIW, our peppers are shit this year also. Jalapenos and green bell. Asparagus is going more nuts than usual, the fluffy stuff in the back of the 2nd pic. Tomatoes and blueberries too. Basil also, 1st pic, bottom left, two plants. Parsley bolted and fizzled fast this year, cilantro twice as fast as the parsley. I counted about 50 bunches on our grapevine, 5x more than any other year past. Strawberries and beans, absolutely shit output. It's been a weird year.

I hope they're not right around the corner. Hell, look at this 9th generation. There's almost no games out that are series X/PS5 exclusive. We got scammed on this generation of consoles.

I still want to play Detroit, Destiny 1 & 2, Mafia 2 & 3, and a few others, but I'm drawing a blank.

 

I don't think I've used mine for anything more than youtube and some series x exclusive remakes. I use my PC for minecraft, and everything else I play is on Xbox one.

 

I have a stack of PS4 games my bro in law sold me before he sold his PS4. I still haven't played any of em yet.
