Came across this great idea for a snorkel on FB I believe TSOR (Toyota Sequoia Off-Road) page. I think this style of snorkel looks much better than the LC 100. This is 1st gen Tacoma snorkel. He said he was able to line up the stencil with the antenna. I wonder how much noise on the highway snorkel cause?unnamed.jpg

Can you get cuts that nice with a sawzall?
    I can't. I bet they used a cutting wheel.
Food for thought when my time comes.

About a decade ago we started doing a Trash to Treasure event, we put out donation boxes in all the dorms and a few other buildings. All donations get sorted and we have one sale with all the proceeds going to the local United Way office. Any donations that are left over go to Salvation Army.

Doesn't get all of it out of the landfill but it helps on a couple fronts.

I've gotten a half done the past couple years. Runs about $1500 total. For the 3 of us a whole pig, half beef, and like 25 chickens gets us through the year.

It's not terrible. Most concerning thing was seeing smoke coming from my junk during the cauterization. Just make sure you do the follow up to verify you're shooting blanks.

NOT an HVAC dude, but traps are usually only put where sanitary/sewer gas needs to be blocked.

Is it dropping into an open floor drain?

A couple times a year i'll dump a little bleach down my ac drain.

no the pan overflow drain, but the line that drips down into my bathroom sewer.

Well, like I said, I'm not an HVAC dude, so maybe there is some reason it needs it? Ide clean it out good... like if it sits a lot and collects slime or debris.
Ide wait for a real HVAC guy to give you the final answer. Do we have any in here?

You can mix bleach & dawn if you want it to foam & stick to the pipes.

Put the trap in. It can change some pressures a little bit and a lot of manufacturers are recommending them.

Don't skip the secondary drain or float switch either.

There are tablets you can throw in the pan to control bacteria and crud growth.

I've got a friend that raises his own cows and has thousands of dollars worth of meet in his deep freezers at any given time. I asked him what he would do if we lost power for several days and he just looked at me. Realization hit him. I think he went out and got a decent back up generator after that. I would imagine that if you don't open the lid, a freezer should keep meat frozen for a day or two but it's a good idea to have a backup plan if you're gonna have that much on hand.

Man that reminds me... The power went out in the neighborhood in the middle of the afternoon yesterday and my Kohler generator didn't kick on. First time since install, two or three years ago, it hasn't worked automatically. I was sleeping and woke up fuckin sweating. TX is heating up.
    How about where you're at?
