This. @VR6T it's true, anyone not doing the work themselves can either pay a shop to replace the bushings or replace the LCA's with OEM and the cost will be the same. Pay about the same, choose to pay if for parts and just enough labour to swap those parts, or pay for more labor to DEA with the bushings. But yes, poly is the only rational reason to press and replace bushings.

I'd add to that, unless you plan to do a rock crawling mid travel set up or a long travel set up, then there's no reason to go beyond OEM for the LCAs. OEM with poly bushings being as far as I'd go on a 2wd, unless you get a wild hair to go LT. Aftermarket LCAs are purpose made for heavy off-road use and bigger tires, like 34's-37's

Any time in the last 20 year a rubber bushing has gone bad in my cars it has always been replaced by poly lol. Rubbers good for your every day daily driver guy. But me, and most of us here, will always want more and better performance

In my younger years i went through a period for about a year where i got fed up with other drivers doing stupid shtuff, so i simply let them hit me. I was always either in my jeep CJ7 or old ford Highboy. It did absolutely zero damage to my vehicles, but of course did a decent amount to the other persons. No injuries of course since they were mostly sideswipes and some light rear ends. They were always 100% at fault. I came to the conclusion that all it did was make the other person feel REALLY bad and ruin the rest of their week. After a while thought about it and i started feeling bad about it. I’ve matured as a driver and now do whatever it takes to SAFELY avoid a collision. I have also been in a couple of REALLY REALLY bad (and unavoidable) collisions (again, the other drivers were 100% at fault) and that will sure set you straight for defensive driving.

I pressed out and replaced my bushings with rubber. :anonymous:
In my defense (as if I need one), I’ve got this crazy idea in my head that I will be installing a long travel kit before I ever have to replace those bushings. :notsure:

The problem with teaching that dumbass driver a lesson is that you might inadvertently teach that lesson to an innocent child in the back seat... Right?
Rarely does a day pass where I don't have to take some kind of evasive action to avoid an idiot. I'll still swear or something, like WTF are you thinking...
But I don't use my vehicle aggressively. That just happened with age I guess.
There have been times I've cussed out a driver for slow stupid "I don't know where I'm going" type stuff, only to see it's a terrified older person just trying to get somewhere (in this mad-max world) when we get to a stoplight....:(
Who knows what other people are going through though... spouse died, child died, lost their job, lost their home.... you get the picture.
I don't always follow this mindset perfectly, but for the most part I do.

Yup. That little blue bordered sticker in the windshield is our registration in TX. We don't have the stickers on our license plates like a lot of states. Motorcycles do though. So it's always funny in movies or TV when I hear cops say "license and registration please". They say "license and insurance please" and "why were you going over 100 dickead?" here.

Did not know bout the window sticker. Seems kinda dumb. So if you replace your windshield, you've gotta go get another sticker, or does it peel off easily enough that it could be transferred between multiple vehicles? Seems weird that the registration wouldn't be posted in plain sight of a following vehicle, like,..... a copcar for instance.

The registration stickers are a formality and a probable cause stop more than anything. I sometimes forget to renew for 6 months or don't apply the new sticker for that long :rofl:The road pirates just want to make sure their daddy is getting that sweet sweet cash.
Pretty much all police departments these days are running automated tag readers, if not that they can run the tag manually. They know a shitload about you before they even walk up to the window.

I see this every day with our windshield vendor. He carefully scrapes it off and applies adhesive to it to attach to the new windshield.

He is a professional. for the manglers out there tho.....
Still strange that it's not on the rear of the vehicle. Cops here use expired reg. as a reason to pull people over and shake em down. Like driving with a tail-light out.
Out of curiosity; for those in states that have inspections for registration, do you get fix-it tickets as well? Or is that all dealt with at inspection time? Asking because, we don't have inspections to reg., only smog. So it's left up to local authority to address vehicle faults such as burnt out lights, or even bald-ass tires.

I've never :fingerscrossed: received a fix it ticket or a warning. NC, SC, TX or the many other states I've driven in. However. I try to keep my shit in working order. If I have a tail light out, it's because I didn't know about it.

IF you're indeed the registered owner. Considering that point tho, and with 'where we're at with technology'; seems kinda wasteful and an added liability to even give out stickers anymore, since it can all be logged and verified in their data-cloud, whether it's paid or not, no?

Yeah. Aside from the state stuff it's really helpful with auto service shops as ours is set up where a camera reeds the sticker as soon as the customer pulls into the service drive and it loads the info for the service advisor. They know who it is and what they are here from before even going out to greet said customer. Really cool stuff.

Just like you, we have CDK as our DMS, however we use AutoPoint for the write up tool and MPI. AutoPoint will write to CDK. That tool comes from AutoPoint not CDK (as you are well aware)

Up here, during the day almost anything goes. We have no "inspections" whatsoever. For a while (during-after covid) you didn't even need plates/tags, and you could drive almost anything right on the streets, but I think that has tightened up a little. But picture the craziest piece of shit you can imagine... If you've got seat belts/signals/and brake lights your G2G. But find yourself out after dark and within 100yds of a bar... you are fresh meat.

Lunchbox lockers can make rainy days fun, as long as you're expecting it. No experience with em myself, but a buddy put one in his ranger in highschool.

its not really limited slip, its locked until you can overload the springs. Probably better for mud than rocks.

I think the whole point is so it's not easily transferable (as in you can't steal it and stick it on your car), because it's on the inside of the windshield. However it's not too hard to peel off and transfer to a new windshield.

Think about it, cop pulls you over and walks up to the driver window where they can easily read your sticker.
