No reserve auctions that don't reach the reserve should cost the seller hard money on BaT, I'm sick of them. Put your vehicle up, max out the photos, make good videos, and answer all questions with 100% transparency or GTFO. Or put a Buy it Now option. But don't waste everyone's time.

Not sure how the insurance industry works (other than generalized scamminess), but they do have to pay people for auto repairs (parts and labor recently got more expensive), home repairs (materials and labor recently got more expensive), and body repairs (medicine, hospitals, doctors, a jillion fucking administrators). We all deal with that stuff so intuitively some of those increases make sense just from a common-sense standpoint. Insurance companies are also huge investors in other industries, particularly real estate, which has appreciated tremendously recently so if they're making record profits that also makes sense. I will add that the insurance industry is a scam because it's in all cases required in some form by the government (auto liability, homeowners if you have a mortgage, and medical insurance). Take away that fake market where we all have to subsidize everyone else, and premiums become either much more reasonable because the risk pool doesn't include morons, or they don't you opt not to pay them.

In every industry I'm familiar with costs for goods and services are up across the board, which in turn get passed on into the costs of goods and services that companies provided to customers. If I'm a business owner and my costs go up I'm not just eating that. I have to survive--what do I just give stuff away until I slowly can't pay my employees and go out of business? That's not greed, that's common sense.

My take on it is that our dollars are all worth less (that is the definition of inflation) because both parties in our US-ian government are trying to print their way out of a problem they have largely caused. Inflation (or "greedflation," whatever you want to call it) won't stop until those printing presses turn off and we deal with the economic reckoning that's coming.

This is the one time I would have embraced the regulation of car insurance in my state. It’s not like being without it improved anything.

Could anybody share the dimensions to the ‘ToyotaTundra’ badge, looking at 3D printing some and seeing how that goes.

00-04 avoid. look for v6 powered 06-12. the 2.4ls are oil burning turds. early 00s eat transmissions due to a computer issue. the v6's are bulletproof. the transmissions are a bit weak if you beat on them.. but all around the v6s are hard to kill

Ours doesn't burn any oil but I've been religious about changing the oil since new. I wonder if the oil consumption comes down to maintenance or luck.

When i changed the oil, i peaked around in grandma's '02 rx300 & was surprised the inside of the VC seemed pretty clean. It barely gets driven, almost never enough to get up to temp. Its got less than 40k on it.

Well shit, I need to drop my hitch even further. I have a 5-1/4 drop, but it's still not quite level and bounces more than I like. It's a pretty light trailer, so I'm sure I'll have some of that regardless, but getting it closer to level should help. We don't take much with us when we go camping, so it's not like I'll have a ton of weight to add in the truck.

You guys have any recommendations on bigger drop hitches? If 5-1/4 wasn't enough, I'm thinking something that can go down to 7" (que snickering, TWSS!). Only really ever used Reese for tow products, so I'm not well versed on what brands are shite.

I had that issue with my pup. I ended up with a 6" drop hitch and I figured out how to load the camper front heavy with our gear inside by accessing the door. It's amazing how much you can actually store in there even when fully closed up. The weight to the front and the drop hitch helped so much to cut down on sway and bouncing. I pulled that thing all over the east coast from SC to FL and all the way up to MD.

Thanks, brother! I'll upgrade to at least 6" drop and go from there. Appreciate the input.

Yes! These are cool because a separate annex is available to attach to the front that is completely sealed and will split into 3 more rooms.
