Dumped his little bike testing it out today. Thankfully he is ok, just needs to have a few weeks of easy mode as he puts it

personally i've been looking for a 3uz to build.. less weight. more power stock (and more torque down low too oddly enough) 6 bolt mains and closed deck means its plenty strong... i just like the idea of shedding weight and gaining power.

All my fault. I got too comfortable making laps around the block, was just gonna warm it up since i was gone for 3 weeks. Might've been some loose gravel, but i take full responsibility.

    its not if, but when.

Looks like that bike is totaled (from an insurance and possibly safety perspective) also. Those spun aluminum frames don't like dents. I had a 600 GSXR that I was run over on and ended up with a small golf ball size dimple on the frame. Totaled. Had about $1500 in cosmetic repairs other wise. The dented area will eventually crack open and split the frame under stress. Doubt it's a catastrophic failure mid knee dragging corner, but failure none the less.

When I went down the first time, I figured out I wasn't that good of a rider. I started really diving in to riding techniques and learned a lot of things I didn't know. I got more confident in my technique, while still remembering the feeling of that crash. I chose my riding activities better and was not getting into the situations I knew I couldn't control (Used to ride in big groups doing dumb high speed rural road runs). Two of the best tools I picked up were counter steering and trail braking. Both absolute life savers. Despite all of that, a freaking patch of gravel can still get ya. It's an inherently dangerous activity. That's why it's so exhilarating. Put my bike up for sale when we found out my wife was pregnant. I got run over before I could sell it and made an extra $4k on it :D

Glad you're okay and hopefully the bike isn't too far gone... looks like it went down pretty hard (not just a slide)
