How is this engineered? Something outside the basement structure, between it and the surrounding ding clay? :monocle:

I can ask my brother, the Civil Engineer, this weekend. He was the one who originally told me about it.

I have to go outside every hour as part of my duties haha. But can't see it way down south. Too much light pollution anyways.

Tested a bunch of brands like John did on Tools Tested including Pittsburgh, Craftsman, Lexivon, Kobalt, Husky and more ... all against a (John used a CDI torque wrench tester tester). Kept the ones that would reliably stay within +-4% repeatedly over time (after adjusting initially if necessary) across the range.

So have a few HF wrenches in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" cause found ones that tested within spec and the 1/2" has a pretty convenient range of 10-150 ft lbs. with a shorter length for tighter spots like calipers and fits in a toolbox. Most 1/2" in other brands are 30 or 50-250 ft. lbs. and like a 24" bar.

Also have and usually use in the shop some better name brand wrenches, including a 3/8" 10-80 ft. lb. and 1/2" 30-250 ft. lb. (for front axle nuts). But for $11.99 on sale, seemed good to have the HF that know are calibrated as spares and can keep in toolbox, while the bigger more expensive one stays in the shop.

I want to say when I worked at a Chrysler dealership in 2013, that I saw a Benz peace sign under the hood of a crossfire srt6, while servicing it. Maybe I'm miss-remembering.

That's close to what I've always done, but I do a long stretch, and go 40 -> slowly brake to 10, then slowly back to 40 and repeat a dozen times. Theen 30 to full stop a dozen or so times. I do this with new pads or new rotors. 40mph because anything more would generate more heat.

Everyone has their own take on it. Here's Toyota Maintenance dude's take. Pretty close to what PowerStop reco's.

The SRT6 had the Mercedes engine. Other variants got the shit Chrysler engines. Mercedes chassis. Body work by kids who eat crayons. Interior is the digestive result from those kids. Crap.

Weird that he comes to a complete stop, I guess it's not level 10 critical:notsure:
Today was the first time I ever did it super strict, 30 sec timer on the phone, 30-5mph no stopping, and I made myself a 30 square grid to check off each run, because counting...o_O

On the SRT models they used a "performance engine" which was most likely a Merc long block and Chrysler cross stamped everything else. Everything else used a "superior" domestic engine. And I completely forgot about the SRT model

Pretty sure it was the SLK 300 series kompressor engine in the SRT

Pretty sure the Milwaukee roads have killed my drivers front shock. Or possibly the spring is real worn out.

It bottoms out on nearly every bump- violently. Feels like the spring just gives up and lets the bumpstop take the impact. I was thinking of going to a coilover shock late this summer but maybe that’ll happen sooner.

@Sunnier - you had Fox 2.0s, right? I know they had that issue with the brake line, but tell me about the ride. I’m thinking that with minimal spring preload on the 650lb spring they’ll ride nice, but of course I don’t have them to tell.

I've seen them once before in 87 or 88 near the lakeshore in Ludington MI. It was quite memorable... out in an apple orchard drunk af, I was blown away. They were all green and really defined, and dancing and whipping like crazy.
Good times man. I remember howling wooooohooo so much the crew told me to shut up! Thanks for sharing those shots
