And ultimately this is how it works:

You buy on Stack Social, total comes out to around $65. You click the 'Redeem link', they give you explicit instructions with a coupon code. You follow the instructions exactly, and when you add the membership to your cart at Costco, the coupon code kills the entire cost of the membership, rendering it a zero-dollar purchase. Taken from mine:

Fair warning on this, we signed up using this deal in January and still haven't received the digital gift card. We've asked 3-4 times and keep getting the run around.

Edit- not sure if it was the exact same link but it was a similar promotion.

Mines not quite that bad but close. Usually 35 down/8 up, Verizon LTE Home Internet is the only reasonable choice for me at $50/month.

Don't tempt me with a good time.

I have dragged a car home from Houston, and I cant say it was fun.

4x4 for the daughter and a bonus disc brake rear axle for iron man. It would pay for itself by parting out what's left after the shenanigans. IT'S FREE MONEY!

Just got back from dropping my better 3/4 off at airport for biz trip, and ran down to setup my membership. Looking over the receipt, I made it worth it on the 1st trip. $200 of stuff that would normally run me around $275 at Hole Foods or TJ's. Looks like the biggest savings came in the form of snacks, batteries, paper goods, and soaps/cleaners.

I saved ~$15 on Mobil1 full syn high-mile, 6 quarts of 5w30 for $43. I was actually surprised to see, they had 10qt (2x5qt) jugs of Kirkland full-syn 5w30 for $29. I'ts made by Warren. General consensus on the BITOG site is, it's good oil. I'm a diehard M1 guy, but if I can get ~2 oil changes for $30 and a couple of OEM filters I paid ~$2/ea for, that's a pretty solid deal. Wonder if I'll dare to switch?

I was there last night looking at that same deal. I seriously considered it but I don't want random quarts left over. Based on reports that's good oil at a great price.

The trick to Costco is avoiding the impulse purchases. If you can stick to the things you need you'll save money on most items. Last night was the first time we left there spending under $200. I felt like I won the lottery.

Household goods are definitely cheaper there. I bought a 10 pack of Scott Shop towels last night. It was about the cost I would have paid for 4 somewhere else. I also noticed things like spices are definitely cheaper. You'll get a huge bottle.

The only thing I found that seemed like a bad deal is peanut butter.

Electronics. I looked over the electronics prices and in general, most were lukewarm/meh/no deal. Spices are killer if you run a restaurant, but I can't go through the quantity they have without them going stale first. Meats used to be a lot better deal, but today I wasn't down with paying $50-60 for 4 thick cut ribeyes or strips. The pork shoulder wasn't too bad a deal at ~$2.50/lb but I wasn't biting. Got a good deal on some party wing packs and a mess of stew beef, though.

When oil goes on sale local, I'll pick up a couple single quarts, since the truck takes ½ - 1½ quarts more than the typical volumes stores offer. I'll probably bite the bullet on the Costco brand 5w30 full-syn at least once, maybe near the end of this year's membership, when I can crunch numbers and see if the value really is there. I'm wondering if this will just turn out to be one of thos AmznPrime things, I definitely hit my break-even by summer every year on shipping alone. Issue is, I'm almost dead center between 3 diff't Costcos, and all take at least 25mins to get to if there's no traffic.

I've gotten 5 emails in 10 months. Three saying, "We've increased your speed at no cost!" and the other two, "Update your equipment for faster speeds!"

I peered over what equipment they have available. I think they had 15 devices to choose from, but only two had a no-wifi/no gateway option (I just need a modem, FFS!) so I haven't gone there yet. But besides that, on wired, I've tested out as high as 600 on my downstream so ... I don't think it's necessarily an issue, if the lines aren't even going to support the speeds.

The faster speed is great and all but if 80-90% of your web traffic is to much slower websites, it doesn’t mean squat.

I don’t have to worry on my cable modem until they get to over 300 Mbps.

It was weird, that pop up showed up for me, and I entered a junk email I let all the spam go to. Then submitted. Then it wanted my phone number, "Want it via text instead?!" (nope), and it's hung up there. Won't let me get past. They can have my email, I'm not giving those MF my email and phone.
