its a regular occurrence in MN.

Minnesota nice is a myth. Many Minnesotans are passive-aggressive arseholes.

My theory is that they see the lights and feel ‘safe’ that they see the lights, therefore, allowing them the comfort of stabbing out in front of me. I really noticed people mesmerized by my LED Katanas during all conditions. Maybe they put a spell on them?

Now, without the lights they have ‘doubt’ and wonder is this guy coming in hot?

All I know is people don’t pull out in front of me as much now that DRL is off.

I'm not 100% sure on how it works, but given I have a little knowledge of electrical this is how i see it:
That connector sends power to the relay that runs the headlights at half power or so. If you tap into it, it should work fine. Add a new circuit, maybe a relay, and it should work perfect.

But I’m a Hand Model and we do things different. We are wired different.

Its just an idea that hit me last night. Probably won’t do anything with it, but just thinking if I can get some OEM connectors and run a test on some lighting it might be and option for DRL Ambers.

For drl ambers, plug the connector back in and intercept the wire before the headlight relay and tie it into the front.....well, hold on. I'd have to think about that one cause if you energize that circuit it would turn on all the parking lights. Unless you isolated it from the rear somehow. Hmmm.....

I was thinking of just wiring/completing a circuit from one disconnected DRL connector to each new Amber light(s) and then back to the other DRL disconnected connector.

The problem I see is that resistor and the function of the circuit. I can't find the actual wiring diagram, but I think it's a signal circuit for a relay. If you add lights inline, then reconnect, it could cause issues. Or if it's not and you add lights then reconnect, the drl's will come back on and with the additional load may blow a fuse. You'd have to d/c the drl's out of the circuit to make that work.

Not exactly what you are trying to accomplish, but I would likely run new DRLs on a new circuit with a new toggle switch in the cabin. Still have control when they come on (downside: you have to remember to turn them on and off). But really not unlike many trucks (like my Tacoma) that had a DRL detente on the stalk.

Uhh, since when did murica get Holdens? I just saw a maloo ute drive by while getting an oil change in Bessie. Didn't have time to get a pic. Then, almost right after that, a clone of my truck drove by! Red and tan and everything! Wtf is going on today!?

This is a pretty complete part# list for doing a timing belt for the 2002 4.7L 4x4 AC Timing Belt plus all the other shtuff in/around there. Only thing I question in the way of price is the Radiator which I seem to remember some of you guys getting for $150ish. All items priced are from online stealers for local pick up.

I have not confirmed the part#’s with stealer via phone, but have done so with 2 other online type OEM dealers. Yes I am looking at redoing the seals/washers/gaskets at our Oil Cooler. The timing belt is from a non-dealer online source touting direct sourced parts from factories that Toy uses.

This list has taken about 4 hours to compile. Save it for future use. You may not need all the parts I plan on doing, but at least you’ll have it.

Right now the list sits at about $1500 before taxes. I can trim some cost on the Radiator and maybe not doing the Bracket TSB. Also, hoping to score the Black Friday 30% discounts I saw last year on some online dealers. Hoping to get the complete list below for under $1000. Keep in mind this includes basically the entirety of everything between the front bumper and engine block for around $1k.

Local shops/stealers will charge $1100 just for a basic TB change (Labor/Parts) and skip most of these other items depending on your region.

Its all about building Carbon Credits. Not sure if you noticed, but I’m really really working hard on my Social Credit Scores so when it comes time to need them I’ll at least have a good start. I need to redeem my poor Non-PC past and renew into a post modern man. Soy is the Future!
