    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Wife has me on a regamin every morning about 2.5 cups of her "power greens". Some days they are a bit thick, so I drink over the kitchen sink. About 10-12 big gulps. At least I don't get rot gut.

Just got my first estimate to repair my AC system. $6,669.

Called one of the smaller companies and they quoted me $4,018 to replace the system. $7,100 if I choose to replace the furnace too.

I'm getting 5 more estimates to replace it. It doesn't make sense to repair it.

Tell 'm you'll do it but only if they up the price to $6969 and add a 5% discount.

I mean always make sure it works before you place the order but I've never had one not work. Put the code in and click on something else on the page and it'll tell you if it worked or not.

I don't have any problem sharing my code with anyone it's just that sometimes it's quicker and easier to just Google it.

Yep, in under a minute of searching I found and tested another code that definitely works.

My little sister’s ex-boyfriend before she got married used to repair the aluminum ductwork on portable ACs with a TIG welder (so I was told). I wonder if that would apply to a whole house system?

    Couldn't relate more to this...

I've always been skinny. Really skinny. Never really been able to gain much wait without extreme effort. Always figured that it was just the way that I was. The past couple summers I've worked for a landscaping company, quite literally working your tail off all day, every day. Just an all-day workout. I'd eat well over 2500 calories each day and drink two protein shakes. I watched all of my coworkers get huge over the course of the summer, but not me. I probably gained 11lbs at the most- and you'd have no idea looking at me. It was awful to keep up that much eating. I couldn't do it. I lost the entirety of that weight in only a few weeks after I moved to college.

Similar story with my time running cross country for my high school. My old HS is actually pretty famous for being one of (if not the) best running school in the country. More state and national titles than anyone else, couple of documentaries about us, lots of stuff. I ran on the team all four years, and even though my effort in practice and at meets increased exponentially as I got older, my times weren't getting any faster. It got to the point that I was running upwards of 60 miles a week, with essentially zero improvement from freshman year. It wasn't until halfway through my senior season that I realized how much eating affected me, but by the time I was able to really eat, the season was already over.

I'm currently 6' and 130ish lbs since I've been sitting on my ass doing school work since September. I'm going to give gaining weight another try this summer, again working for the landscaping company, but I'm not looking forward to it. I just hate stuffing myself with food every day. I'm essentially an exact physical replica of my dad- only 30 years younger. He said his metabolism didn't slow down for him until he was in his late 20s, but he still has to do a ton to maintain his weight. He's currently like 5'10" and 150lbs- all of that muscle. He bikes to yoga in the morning, bikes to work, bikes home, and then runs for 5+ miles or lifts, and eats 3000+ calories every single day.

Being thin is sorta nice sometimes- I can fit in my little european car, I can rock climb super well, I can run for dozens of miles. But man, I can't wait for my metabolism to slow down.

Same for me, age-wise on metabolic slowdown ... Muscle mass passively burns calories, which is part of the problem, sadly ... be careful what you wish for, coming from the guy that jumped from 145# to 225# at peak in the course of ~18-24 months.

Funny anecdote about that. I lifted up my sac at one point and noticed these purple "tear" marks in my skin where my thigh meets my crack. Kinda bugged me out a little bit, like, "wtf?!", so I went to the doctor and was, "eh, what the hell?"

Stretch marks. It would've never dawned on me. I was back down to 185# at that point, I'd just never noticed before.

So yeah, be careful what you wish for. And expect your metabolism to slow down by the time you're in your late 20s. Take care of yourself now, before you get there. Get a regiment going sooner than later, and stick with it, you'll fill out. It's easier doing it that way than the road I chose, getting way too big and having to reel back bigtime.

Type in the code then click somewhere outside of the text box and it will say updating cart and tell you the new total. On my phone it's like that anyway, think laptop is the same.

I think if you were eating & drinking what I was eating & drinking, you'd find yours would've slowed down, and you'd have gotten fat. I mean, I say "fat" as if 220# at 6'2" is big, these days I feel like that's pretty average. But for the guy who hadn't managed to break into the 150s his whole life...

I do nothing special these days and I just stay the same weight. I can go off on eating binges and drink a six pack of beer every night of the week, it'd take a couple months for me to get anywhere near 190 now. But I've pretty much stopped drinking everything at this point. I don't even keep beer stocked in the fridge anymore unless someone is coming over and I know they drink beer. To that point, ever since the surgery, I haven't been able to break into the 180s again. I think 178 is the heaviest I've been.

tl;dr - when I say "slow down by that time", I mean you won't be able to have 3000-4000 calorie days for days-on-end and not add the weight. I was probably pushing 4k calories with what I was eating and drinking daily in my 20s and it's the only thing that added weight. Now the weight is there, I can't seem to get back down to 165 and below. Even when I had my tonsils out, I think the lowest weight I hit was 167, on a straight liquid diet of 600-800 calories a day.

Gotta say, I'm not disappointed with United Tires @ www.utires.com

$60 shipped to my door, no cracks or patches, even tread, no issues balancing, no nicks or gouges and I'm ready to get a flat again. But really hope I don't. Now I'm hanging with the cool kids like @bmf4069, @empty_lord, and @EvilMilkshake with the Cooper Discoverers. Not ST MAXX, but still.

Did have to pry about 30 pebbles out of the treads, though.

Oh hey, one other thing I realized today and failed to throw a picture out on.

Griot's Trim Restore works to make tires look new also, without all the BS shininess.

My thermostat died tonight, after all this ac talk with @FirstGenVol .
I thought it just needed new batteries and saw they were corroded AF, cleaned it all up and put in fresh AA's and it still dead. Fuck.
Better it happens now while it's 76° than in the summer when it's 100°

Got a question for the handy folks. My porch light has a motion sensor on it, and it works fine, but for the last week or so when i turn it on it flashes 3 times. It hadnt done that before, and its done it every time i've turned it on for the last 5 days or so. I dont have the manual for this light, or even know the brand, think its trying to tell me something?
