I got weighed and measured for life insurance (6 years left on term, redoing as a new 10 to cover till oldest is 18) and she got me as 1” shorter and 3 lbs heavier than I would have liked. Then she poked me for blood and made a nice puddle under the skin. Hah. Oh well

We shrink as we get older. I'm an inch shorter than my max already.

As you age the intervertebral discs compress and become dessicated. It’s normal.

Still, f that, let me hold on to a shred of dignity.

I think she measured sloppy. Maybe I’ll repeat, though I’m sure the 16 today won’t do me any favors.

I was a smidge over 6'2" when I graduated high school.

    I'm about 6ft and a ½" now.

OEM+, 6+1 bastard pack, 4.08 swapped rear end, custom spring shackles, 3 inch flat lift. This list will grow
4.1 and 4.2. The 4.1L kits are factory, well some of them are. And yeah they can be beefed up to handle monster levels of boost, cast iron block in all, paired with forged internals, well there ya go

Ask your guy first on what they want. Don't go around spending a bunch of money beforehand.

If you want for sure OEM parts, buy a mini install kit from ECGS for just the shims/ pinion nut, and crush collar; then source your own seals and bearings. Optionally buy a solid spacer from ECGS to replace the crush collar. https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-126923-toyota-tacoma-t100rear-install-kit-mini.html

Then reference Zuk's website for all the seal and bearing information to get OEM. http://gearinstalls.com/bearing.htm

Anyone got good ideas for my passenger door? I already replaced the latches, driver closes smooth, passenger has to be slammed to close. Striker plate adjustment?

Is the latch hoop bent? When the teflon on the latch buggered up on the sequoia, for a while you had to manually reset the latch, and nobody would remember so they'd slam it. Eventually i dug all the teflon out of the latch & had to rebend the hoop with a vise & hammer.

You'll be shocked by this one simple test! PNW drivers everywhere are kicking themselves for not knowing!

Seriously though, if you lift up on the door and close it, does it require a slam? Thinking about door alignment here, and whether your hinges or hinge bushings maybe worn out.

    I will check the hinges.
Latches are all brand new. Same close behavior though both got slightly better with the new latches.

So I been dealing with this on my driver side for a while myself. I recently found a solution on the FB group. Wrap some electric tape around the outter most portion of the striker, two or three times. Simple as that. I did it a few days ago and have been enjoying normal door functions since.

Oh so it’s friction on the striker? Could I just replace the striker then?

    Man, @455h0le_dachshund for the win!

All four doors on my truck have a heinous rattle. I planned on finding solution when I got into doing bodywork and welding in some door check doubler plates. 60 seconds per side and I can actually hear myself think now!

Yellow because it's my favorite flavor, and the only thing I have in stock at the moment.
    20240331_131345.jpg
I did all thee on each side. 2 per Access door and one for each front door.

@Mr.bee may be onto a more permanent solution with tweaking the hoop for better engagement.

The door checks on both of my front doors are blown out and probably have contributed to some less than stellar hinge alignment.

If it's a friction issue, simply applying dry lube - which I assume you have a ton of (cyclist and all) - or any graphite based treatment would accomplish the same goal.

I'd speculae it's more of a padding thing. I can't remember if our trucks came from the factory with plastic covering that spot. I'm cure someone could 3d-print a plastic c-shaped tube clip to go over the bar, though.
