Can someone please explain the mentality of assholes who speed up to get in front of you when you’re side-by-side at a light only to slow to a 30 mph speed limit when everyone else does 35-40 mph?

What’s worse is he was driving a jacked up 2015 RAM with the name SYBIL on the plate.

Logic would tell you the person who gets in front stays ahead and does 35 mph minimum. If I didn’t have someone cross in front of me I felt I would be racing him to get out in front.

Pretty interesting. Just another reason not to trust Chinese products when it comes to safety. As a medical professional I found so many things wrong with what he said that gave me chuckles but not judging or anything. He definitely got lucky.
Also this all could have been avoided if he wasn’t driving a ford…

I just called a different 4x4 shop to ask about an alignment. They won't even do an alignment since I replaced the tie rods myself instead of having them do it. I understand not installing custom supplied parts but this seems dumb.

Dumb AF. Go back when someone else is working the front and don't tell them you replaced them. Sure can't be hungry for work, wtf?

Fuck em. I'll just use someone else. Strange business model. I wonder what a Hunter alignment system costs. Probably $50k? You'd think they would want some ROI.

    Wow, 50k!
Today's commute showed my wheel off center and a light pull to the left... not ideal. You'd think the geometry wouldn't change with just the LBJs. When I did the first set with LCAs I never set the toe... she was fine. I did do camber n caster though. Looks like the string is coming out tonight for some redneck driveway science.

I noticed my camber seems off which doesn't make sense to me if I didn't mess with the LCA's.

I called a different shop and the guy knew that our trucks should be around 3 for Caster. I was impressed! I feel good about this one. Taking it in Friday.

That’s super lame, I bet they’d claim something about ‘liability’.
Reminds me of a time we got a flat (not in the Tundra), I put the spare on and found it was a bit low, there was a tire shop nearby so I thought ‘great, they’ll have air’, I went in and they wouldn’t fill it or even let me fill the tire ‘because of liability issues’. I won’t be buying tires there ever.

toe in can look like camber problem. Happened to my son’s Mustang. We put new struts and LCAs in and drove it a week before the alignment. It looked like camber was way off. Turns out it was toe and it ate the insides off the tires in 1 week :eek2:

Yikes. I better not drive it much then. I wonder if I could adjust it myself a little before the alignment. Never messed with the toe myself before.

Toe is the easiest. Set the steering wheel straight and secure it. Then use the 2x4 or string method to get you close. Helps to take the weight off the tires mostly to allow for easy adjustment of the outer tie rods.

Most shops won't work with customers if they did the work themselves with OEM parts or not. The reason is because most shops have to warranty any work that they do and can't warranty something that the customer installed themselves. That's the liability issues that most shops don't want to involve themselves in. Most of those policies are put into place because corporate said so or because the shop was burnt by a bad customer over something like that.

Some shops can't waive a warranty so they would just rather not complete the work than to deal with the possible headache down the road.
