This happens almost every day. When will people learn?

 

For S&G I was browsing a CARiD for FGT parts and came across a power steering filter.... is that a mixup or do we actually have one?

 

I think the real question is will @KNABORES post the carnage or let us know when his luck runs out?

 

There's a screen thingy in the reservoir if I remember correctly.

I'm not aware of one like that and doesn't look like there's anything in the schematics.

 

Im a full disclosure kinda guy. You’ll know good, bad or indifferent. The truck generally gets driven less than 2000 miles per year now. All easy miles too.

 

Not knowing any better, I went over 300k on the factory ball joints

Did you get your free ones under the recall?

 

I took ownership in 2006 with 125k. Prior to that, no history of them ever being replaced. I have all the PO's records from day one.

 

Sounds like you’re due for a freebee LBJ compliments of Toyota.

 

Toyota says "Not applicable for VIN". Meaning it was a campaign released for vehicles after my production date. Trust me, I looked into it before I replaced mine last year.

 

That makes no sense. The 2000-2002 Tundras should be covered. I’d pull up the recall to see why and if there’s no logical explanation, complain to corporate.

 

I'm not really worried about it as I have new ones with about 4k miles on them. Here's the list of campaigns that were ever open on my vehicle

Just did the flush.. had res all the way out to clean and didn't see the "screen". Thx.

BTW, 3.5-4k per year street use... also non-OEM (I think moog) LBJ.

I just replaced my power steering lines, I did not see a filter anywhere (at least not by the lines).

Did a little more research. Guess you’re right. They screwed the 2000 Tundra owners. Supposedly only eligible for 2001-2006? Need to check my recall notice at home. I know I have it.

 

Not really much of a discount if you check it against the individual price.

Looks like it runs from 04-06

 

The one I have might be from 2001-2003 and that's a continuation under a different recall number I'm guessing.

 

02-04 according to the NHTSA campaign number 05V225000

 

@bmf4069 will appreciate this. These guys were so lazy that they left a knot in this extension cord and just grabbed a second one to make up the 10’ they needed.

 

Mine got the recall in '06.

 

How many times have you walked by and spun the wheel? And then yelling “I’m going to the showcase showdown!!!!”

 

So they didn’t even include 2001? Well supposedly it was a manufacturing error but that doesn’t make much sense if it went on to 2006.
