Doesn't seem to matter which filter I use, all my Toyotas' oil have always looked good upon draining. I've used several different filter brands and a handful of different full synth 5w30 oils.

For filters I've used Toyota, Mobil 1, Fram, AC Delco, K&N, STP, Denso, etc...
For full synthetic oil I've used Mobile 1, Castrol, and Pennzoil Platinum.

I feel like their testing is flawed. I suspect Toyota is using filter media that only deals with a specific micron size, i.e. particulate size that would actually be harmful if it were allowed to continue cycling thru the engine. They chose one ultra-fine particulate size to run their test, a particulate size I'd argue is totally inconsequential to any standard engine operation when one considers the size of the passages the oil is flowing thru.

A proper test would've not just done dust, which is a fairly fine (ultra-fine?) powder, but would've also included a particulate size that would actually be detrimental to the engine. Clearly, Toyota finds oil flow to be more important than filtering out non-detrimental ultra-fine particulate. For how long Toyota engines last, far beyond other manufacturers, especially when using OEM filters ... one must wonder, why do the other companies allow their filters to clog no non-consequential ultra-fine particulate? Toyota has nothing to prove, the fact their engines using OEM filters can last 2x, 4x, 6x, 10x longer than others speaks volumes more than that shit video.

And how are the dudes running the testing too stupid to bring that point up as a possible? Fishy.

Agreed. My first thought was that Toyotas engines, as we know are robust AF and those manufacturers engines are well... Just look at what @KNABORES been working on lately.

Holy shit, shut down is done. 78 hours in one week, 38 of it in 3 days. 26 hours OT and 12 hours DT. I'm beat. I have EV training tomorrow and Tuesday, then i think im gonna take Wednesday off and tell my jr foreman to take Thursday off and have a 4 day weekend.

Dude will be here next weekend to pick up the SHOs and pay the other half. I'll have my driveway back for the weekend before T2S: Parker edition.

Backed along a Bush and put a couple linear scratches in the clearcoat on my truck. Any technique to minimize them so they are less noticeable?

Hard cutting compound to diminish the ridge. Follow-up with a clear coat-safe polish on a random orbit DA.

She's dating one of the Chiefs players and has been at most of the games this season. I guess because of her celebrity status it's been good for ratings and the media eats it up.

Got my truck full of fuel & loaded down & finally have a driver side lean. LCA's to bumpstops are still pretty even, but my rear springs are hurting & the driver side axle is 3/4" closer to the bumpstops. Gonna shuffle my load back to level & send it.

Nope. That topic kinda got touched on in the dank chain.

tl;dr - people are f'n gullible idiots who want to believe in any obscure BS they're spoon fed. What started off as a total troll joke by some keyboard warriors in 4chan has spun off into a cult following that feeds (and some profit nicely) off tinfoil-hat-wearing idiots. EDIT: And that's coming from a guy who uses a proper corrugated steel hat to block the mind control waves!

Which are the crowd favorite halogen front corner bulbs? If sticking with NA for now (I have vled switchbacks, two sets actually, but not yet allocating time for them.) I kinda need some for my T4R test headlight too and all my spares are single filament from 3rd gen TRD tacomas.

Let me see some pictures and I can help you out.

You need to make sure that the scratches didn't cut to bare metal, if it did then the only solutions would be to either use some touch up paint or completely repaint the panel/blend adjacent panels.

If it didn't cut to metal here are two options:
    1) Light scratches. These can probably be worked out with some elbow grease using compound, polish, wax with a microfiber towel in that order. Compound is more aggressive with grit, Polish is less aggressive and then wax is well....wax. Elbow grease and some Mr. Miyagi moves will get it gone.
    2) If they are a bit deeper and you have a larger area to work with then you will want to get an . I linked a cheapo one but you can get whatever your heart desires.

With an Orbital buffer you want to be careful. You can easily burn the paint with friction heat. Keep it moving and never leave it in one place for too long. Here is a good video to check out.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9n6_3DRqRo

The grit wears down the clear coat over the scratch until it matches the same height of the scratch to eliminate it. It doesn't hide it or repair it, technically. All vehicles have clear coat at a certain thickness that is able to be manipulated to remove surface scratches.

Eh, it goes through cycles. Never is a long time.
Last time I was there was a month after the towers fell. Concrete dust everywhere, people a little zombied out. Time before that NYC was clean, decorated for Christmas, everything / everyone festival, air crisp. But go back to the garbage strike in the 70's & it was gawd-awful.
Vegas was great, then it stunk of jet fuel everywhere. Last I went it stunk of jet fuel & the sidewalks were littered with "girls, girls, girls". But head west 2 miles & it's awesome desert.
The right mayor & 4 years to get the ball rolling makes a noticeable difference. So likely things are on a 4-year cycle or multiple thereof. NYc will come around again.

To be fair, when I was there it was back in the early 80s playing the A travelling league for Squirt Hockey. Their rinks were stellar. Kind of like skating on glass. Streets were clean.
