I passed on on the interstate the other day as well. Fist gen tundra, failed ball joint, didn't look like it hit anything though.

I believe the axle is swappable, he should just be wide in the rear. If he goes LT in front, he should be fine haha.

Because unless the taco is a 5 lugger or a 4 banger, or has the e-locker, then it should be an 8.4. All the afformentioned should be 8.0.
The only other difference should be the width of the axel housing

Check your sway bar too. Or did you remove it?

A lot of the popping noises I was hearing went away after tightening my sway bar links a few weeks ago. I'd like to ditch the front sway bar and add one on the rear but Hellwig is really expensive now.

Front swaybar isn't the issue. It's totally gone. there's nothing remaining up front that could/would make clunks like that from the front strut area except the coilover, LCA, LBJ, or CV axle that I can think of.

But it sounds like it's coming from near the strut tower (ish) to me, maybe it could be LBJ? I dunno. Proactively swapping soon. If it goes away, great, just saved myself a potential disaster. If not, I now have two backup LBJ in case something happens out in the wild.

He's got the 4cyl 5spd 2wd base model. Looks like it should be a 3.42.

So back to my stupid ass upgrading a PC. Turns out my SPECIFIC model of b450M/ac doesn't support the ryzen 7 5800x3d. It'll support the 5800x or the 5700x3d, but not 5800x3d. So I bought a new B550.

Yup, bought 03+ ball joints for my 02. So basically I bought 03+ spindles.

I got the new MB and CPU in, flashed the bios to the latest version and it worked. Enabled XMP and set the RAM speed to 3600.

    20240126_151845.jpg

Now I have a new problem. Windows won't load. Everytime I exit bios it goes back into bios. I have the UEFI hard drive set as boot priority. I dunno man, this is stupid. Like I said, "PC MaStEr RaCe". Next time I'm just buying a new pre-built. I need a beer.

a lot of my clunking went away when I changed my steering rack bushings to polyurethane. I also gained some steering angle. That was a nice bonus.

OK, so windows loaded and I got new drivers and whatnot for whatever needed it. I ran DDU and swapped my GPU. Nada, nothing, zilch. Just gray screen. No boot sequence screen, just nothing.

I'm tempted to build a new computer myself. Microcenter had an awesome deal on either a Ryzen or Intel motherboard, 16-32 GB RAM and processor for around $400. Just need the M2 drive, case, power supply and processor cooler.

Interesting that the new set of processors have video graphics embedded within them. I need to read up on how that works.
