Oh shizz. that's a good idea! I've had to the Powerstop WL's in a box for a freakin minute, but I've been waiting to install until I get aftermarket wheels and tires...

    ...which I finally ordered today!

Yup. Preach. Based on that pic, he's too far gone, just ride it out lol. I only put down a little bit of melt when I know it's going to snow again, that way the next day of shoveling isn't with a pick-axe.

Most of my "old man pride" comes from shoveling the drive way (well, the wife's side, idgaf about snow on my side), our sidewalk, and the sidewalk/mailbox/path-to-the-front-door of our elderly neighbor. Which brings me to my next point: Why TF do snow shovels only come in a children's size?! A 48 inch handle would be savin' my back right now.

It’ll be my second 4.7 over 250. Actually keeping this one to see how long I can abuse it haha.

I never read the dam instructions, I just point and shoot. Now I'm going to have to learn wtf that is.
I just though it was quite a span from 13 to 3 deg on the surface. I mean you'd think next to mother earth it would be warmer.
But wtf do I know? Nothing about Emissivity that's for sure ;)

@FirstGenVol I hit the Walmart to look for a sled and I think I saw 10 employees and 20 customers. At 5PM. It was weird.

This is how I remember…high reflectivity equal low emissivity and vice versa:

    It gets worse.

Some metals are "selective emitters". Not only do I have to account for surface condition, the current temp of the metal shifts the emissivity too.

Things that are flat black are easy. A two color pyrometer helps as well.

Thanks guys. Mainly use it to check heat tapes and areas we don't want frozen. Maybe I can pitch this "inaccuracy" and get a thermal!!
That would be several days of fun before the coolness wore off.

For what you're doing the one have is probably fine. But an IR camera would be better. They make ones that plug into your phone.

Day 5. It's snowing again. Still haven't seen a plow but the main roads are in better shape. I'm ready for this to melt. My truck is covered in salt.

You shouldn’t let it bathe in salt for too long unless you have it coated in fluid film.

At least I washed mine at the $5 DIY car wash.

No shit dude. :D It hasn't been above freezing and most of the city has been shut down. I would love to get this off my truck.

It still rusts but at a slower rate when it’s below freezing. You’ll see the minor surface rust in the spring.

I guess that's one thing I like about my living situation. I'm 7 minutes away on back roads from the local car wash.

Tomorrow the high is 20 but sunny. As soon as I get the chance I'll bust out the hose. Snow likely won't melt until Monday or Tuesday. This is the longest I've ever seen snow on the ground in 30 years of living here.

It's sunny, windy, no snow, and in the high 30s/low 40s here in Atlanta. And I couldn't be happier.

Hell yeah! This is why we deal with the 110s in summer. While others bitch about salt, snow, and ice, it was 76 here today.
