Yes, the 6 lug models from first to turd gen did. I can't speak up on the fourth gen.

It may come down to the roads you’re accustomed to drive upon but for me I’ve had a newer Taco back end jump out on me when going around a cloverleaf exit covered in poorly filled in potholes at 40 mph. Not fun.

Taking that same corner in my Tundra, it just soaks it up. I attribute that to the tighter suspension and lower weight of the Taco myself.

I’m not saying that can’t be fixed but I feel you’d have to lower the height a little and provide a slightly softer suspension. Having said that, I really don’t want to sit lower than the already standard height of my Tundra which already sits at about the same height of a Taco 4x4.

    Just my two cents.

I can't speak upon the drivability of the turd gen taco. But stock they weigh up to 5600lbs, our trucks stock weight up to 5020lbs

That is one hell of a deal! Those are cool and all, just not my style. No, this isn’t a plug for starfish again. I do have a set of wheels ( ) that I want to put on my truck but I’m waiting until it’s tire time. Unfortunately, tire time will be quite a few years away

Lots of good parts on that truck, but sounds like he doesn't want to spend the time parting it out.

Eh. Those are ok. I don't want black wheels. Crazy to me that people will list wheels for sale but are too lazy to clean them first.

For you guys that know about trees… What is this and does it lose its leaves? It’s too close to the house and the roots are beginning to fuck with the foundation. It needs to go. I was hoping that it would lose its leaves and go dormant This winter so that I could cut it down. Doesn’t seem like that’s happening.

Is it a crepe myrtle? Bark looks a little rough, but the leafs look right.

No, it doesn’t spread like a crêpe myrtle.
    upload_2023-12-23_11-3-7.jpg

I cut the one branch off because it was contacting the roof. I can cut the whole thing down, I was just hoping that the leaves would fall so that I could burn the twigs without leaves on them

agree. my Taco somehow got tall when I wasn't paying attention. When I'm rolling in the Taco I'm always surprised how short CRV's & Odyssey's are. o_O

If you download the PlantNet app it's been pretty accurate for me. Snap a picture of the leaves and it should help you identify it.

I'm curious how the earlier 2000-2004 4.7 non-vvti would fair against the 05-06 vvti in a drag race. BUT what i'm more curious about is if the early non-vvti truck had the lil' stock sized 245/70-16 tires when compared to the vvti trucks that all came stock with the 265/70-16. And let's make sure that both trucks are access cabs, just so that the weights are the same.

    Long tubes question.
I'm looking at a set for the off-brand Tundra & they say "competition use only".
I wrote the makers & asked - is that because you haven't had them certified or because they do not pass? (I assume they get epa certified?)
They wrote back & simply said "oh, we put that on everything".

So is this some way to avoid some expensive testing, or do long tubes actually do something bad like throw c/e light, or do something to mess with emissions? It's just pipes shaped a little different - what could they do? (yes, never looked into long tubes, but this motor just can't exhale.)

It's an attempt at avoiding an EPA fine. In recent years the EPA has been progressively overstepping its bounds and absolutely railroading small business owners who do exhaust/tuning/diesel deletes etc.

I think it's mostly for CA.
But in my experience, when I got my LT headers on my 06, I had to replace all four of my O2 sensors to please the CEL gods
