Is it a thunk, or a pop? Seems like sway bar/links are a common cause on our truck

You gotta get the lifetime alignment before you lift the truck. Most places will not give you the option if you try to buy if after lifting or lowering suspension

That was my thought also. If nothing else, someone got about 5-10 years concussed out of their life at best, is in a wheelchair the rest of their life at worst. Both airbags deployed so likely not just one person.

Good call. I gave them a little tap-a-poo the other day and didn't notice anything. I need to go at them armed with more than just my purse.

People can survive some heinous shit, but long term quality of life is way different after something like that.

Im with @txagg on the steering rack. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I've always wanted this alignment kit. Mostly because nobody wants to deal with my dually on big meats. In my mind it would pay for itself if in short order, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I wonder if they bothered to clean up the blood up before selling? I know at insurance auctions they don’t.

I bought a Subaru from a guy that transported his friend to the hospital after getting hit by a car. The carpet was never the same. I shampoo/detailed the interior and drove it for about a year before selling it. Nobody that looked at it asked about the stains, so I didn't feel the need to disclose the terrible backstory. Fun times.

Yup, pulled. I think I've noticed a difference all of maybe 0.001% of the time I've driven since. My suspension is pretty firm after moving to the Toytec c/o and HD springs.

I've love to have a box Caddy like this one some day, similarly setup.

I got to thinking the other day when looking at some of these FGT total losses... about 50k and a couple acers at our next place would start a decent FGT bone yard. Just start scooping these up cheap. Maybe a few acers for a camp ground/spots adjacent to the bone yard...
Anyone pickin up what I'm puttin down?

Some girl needed her Starbucks and tried to turn left in the right lane of a 4 lane. Talked to a friend of mine that owns a body shop today and he says with 90% confidence that insurance will total it.

Y’all may know me as the sarcastic, cynical, never can tell if he’s being serious, asshole, but in all honesty… I’m completely devastated.

Almost the same thing happened to me in October. I owner retained salvaged and with what they payed out I made back 100% of my purchase price, and got a couple thousand on top of that. The only downside I could see is that if you ever wanted to sell your title would be branded as "rebuilt" or "prior salvage" and will sell for less/ be harder to find a buyer.

My truck is not nearly as nice as yours, so your experience may be different.

I have entertained this as an option but I have no idea what it entails. Another friend of mine is my insurance agent and I talked with him for an hour today. When I brought it up he kinda said the same thing. Said he has no experience doing it and couldn’t give me any advice.

I guess I need a little more info. It just happened last night and at this point I’m just so exhausted and defeated.

Inners are always a bit of a pain, but mark your tie rods and alignment bolts with paint pen so you can set it back to where it was. Also, if you’re wheeling and knock the alignment out you can reset before going home and chewing up your tires.

    The basics.

Let the body shop put together an estimate, if its close to the salvage percentage the insurance company will send an adjuster out to do their own inspection.

The insurance company will determine a total loss value.

Tell them "I would like to owner retained salvage"

Their new value should be the original value less the salvage value "buying it back"

The title will be branded as salvage until its rebuilt. After the rebuild you will need a standard safety inspection and you take that and form VTR-61 to the dmv.

The title will be rebranded as "Prior Salvage" or Rebuilt"

    You are now road legal.

Anyone have a set of 5100's NOT installed yet, that can grab a couple measurements with a digital caliper?

Looking for the o.d. of the body, o.d. of the snap ring and thickness of the snap ring.
