If I weren't building for long distance efficiency and reliability I would do 40's and a solid axle in a heartbeat. Makes them a more polished version of the third gen hilux trucks that I love.

4.88 to 5.29 would be my guess at ideal. Ive never looked at the transfer case ratios in these trucks though.

Hopefully not the factory ones that came in those axles. 5.88 may not be enough. Cool build. Zero use for anything like that. And his fuel door fell off.

Hmmm. I've been wondering if tan would look good on mine. Not sure though. I don't know if the color lines would "flow" right.

Tan front and rear factory bumpers would look great i think. Just order the ones for the base or grade model with the black powdercoat and refinish. Side note: everyone appears to have some nice camping spots, @Mr.bee has a pop-up mechanic shop in the pine straw. Attaboy.

I mean, with how much he's probably having to fill up due to lugging around the added weight of those tires alone, I fully understand how and why the fuel door fell off.

If you are going to do front and rear bumpers and sliders you could almost go with any color. FDE would blend the existing two tone nicely.

I remember seeing a pic of the bed of the truck with the dead soldiers. It was not insignificant. I understand there was also bottle service.

Stupid question for you best gen experts: were any years of Tundras eligible for frame replacements? I know some Tacomas were but I wasn't sure about the Tundra.

Need advice please. My inner tie rods need to be replaced. How difficult is this job? I've never done them on any vehicle. Am I stupid to put new tie rods on a steering rack with 190k miles? I don't want to do this job twice and pay for two alignments. My outer tie rods were replaced in 2019 and have roughly 32k miles on them.
