No, we don't have anything called a kolache up here at the North Pole. So, just wondering what it was. :monocle:

But, never mind I'll just use the Google machine :santa2:

I cook a whole turkey in an oven bag, and it's always perfect. To prep, I reach under the skin to break the connective tissue to separate the skin from the meat, then salt, lemon pepper, anything else I want to try as flavouring, then put a bunch of butter so it nearly coats the meat (under the skin). Cook in oven according to instructions on the cooking bag packaging. Meat is never undercooked, always juicy but with a brown thin outer edge, and the skin is brown and tasty for those that eat it. Also, no basting, can rest a fairly short time and be great, or can spend hours-- whatever makes the timing work with all the other food.

This is so much easier than smoking, frying in peanut oil, or old fashioned basting-- and tastes great. Not going back.

Cliffs notes on a kolache, it’s a pig in a blanket. Simple, fancy or otherwise. You’re welcome Santa, don’t forget the 8112s and the rear HD springs I asked for.

I mean, that's technically a klobasnek. Kolache has a few iterations. (Edit: Texans specifcally are known for that usage, though)

You right. The only Kolaches I ever encounter in the wild are the pigs in a blanket variety. Boudin kolache being my favorite.

Boudin anything is my favorite. Black boudin is my favorite, but I can't picture it working as well in a kolache.

Well, my new truck was stolen out of the driveway last night. I have two gps systems on it, and they were both disabled. Pulled up my camera footage and a truck pulls up to specifically my house, and parks in the street at the mailbox. Two dudes hop out and jog up, jump right in as if its unlocked and then immediately start it and drive off. Guys were both crackers and wearing grey hoodies that looked just bought. Good times.

eta- I'm a cracker, so I can say that.

Damn, dude. Sorry to hear. Maybe they were by in the past week to capture the key code? Not sure what they do nowadays to replicate a code to steal a vehicle. Hoping you have some past footage where you may have gotten a plate number.

Overcame the built in gps, wow. You’d think they worked at the dealer that sold you the truck.

Appreciate it. These guys were pro's. They pulled it from the fob transponder from the street or somewhere I stopped. Plates won't matter, guaranteed the brand new f150 they rolled up in was also stolen. I used a faraday case when I had the Raptor, but figured this truck wouldn't be as much of a target. It's typically crews from the Houston area, less than an hour from me.

I was just going to tell you, get a faraday box. :( It's really the only thing to save your ass. Any prox-keyed car is susceptible, including all our Toyota push-button start vehicles.

You didn't happen to see a dude between the house and truck being the repeater/amp? Or was the truck at a pretty close proximity to the house? (like less than 15ft)

In today’s world it’s unacceptable for these manufacturers not to come up with a more robust encryption method that can’t be hacked. Even the stuff I work on has unique key codes that can’t be determined unless you tear down the IC circuits. Fuse technology has been around for 20+ years so it shouldn’t be difficult. If we operated like the big 3, missiles would be taken over remotely mid-flight. It’s a freaking shame.

Truck they pulled up in would have been about 60ft from my front door. The truck itself, was parked up against the garage. Not 10ft from the front door.

Ok, so no repeater needed. They probably hopped right in and drove off, literally. Faraday box. Hope you get it back ... doubt you will.
