That is an incredibly huge bummer, but you should soldier on. Do not let your head demons get you. A wise new friend I have made says in my times of hardship, and when I think I should stop.

    Forward. Always forward. Never back.

Regarding the gas tank issue. I'm not sure about what is "OK" to use. Others will chime in shortly.

That sucks. While I'm not necessarily recommending this could be a permanent solution, you could try some a JB Weld steel stick or other type of epoxy to give you more time to find a better solution.

    Bummer this happened to you.

Try filing insurance. They should cover your New OEM Tank Cost plus the labor cost plus cost of a full tank of gas. You should come out ahead if you do the work yourself. Go ahead and buy a new Denso gas pump and filter kit and getter dun. Your insurance will cover this. My guess somewhere in the $2500-3000 range. Hit them for full stealer costs and not these discounted ones I’ve posted.

    Ok then.
I just watched the Ford vs Ferrari movie, it is entertaining. I love good car stories
But the end part left me with 1 thought. Ford = Found On Road Dead.

Sorry, it had to be done.
I'll reverse that for ya, Ford = Driver Returns On Foot

The truck insured? That will probably cover. OEM used is what I’d do for a tank. They’re easy to drop

And maybe fuel tank straps as well as they get pretty bad or was that just some trucks on here and not an overall issue.

    @empty_lord @NUDRAT
I'm going to try and explain this a bit better. Polk, Klipsch, Bose, and on and on all use solid speaker designs. But if you are good with your hands and tools, you can go out and buy the "loudspeaker cookbook" and build these speakers yourself for a fraction of the cost. There really is nothing special about it. Most use the same off the shelf parts that you can buy, tweeters and woofers and with the cookbook in hand you can literally design and build a solid set of speakers.
Innovation in speakers is difficult, these parts have been the same for over 100 years. So what makes them special or deserving of your hard earned money?
True to source is the goal, what goes in should come out unchanged. In the 70's Bose came up with an innovative design with the 901's. Using multiple small woofers to reproduce the entire frequency range. There's a shit load of 3" driver's, they all look the same but actually some are tuned differently. This eliminates tonal difference between woofer and tweeter. The engineer that designed this has been long gone and now Bose continues to use those 3" driver's today. So why do they deserve that high price? Marketing. Smoke and mirrors. You can build the 901's today if you spend some time sourcing the different 3" driver's.
Anthony Gallo had a different way of addressing the true to source concept. Eliminate the crossover. Every speaker with different driver's use crossovers to cut up the sound and deliver specific frequencies to there respective driver. But what comes out is not exactly what went in. True to source is lost. This is called coloring. Tony used the shape of the woofer enclosure (round) and his patented acoustic stuffing to control the frequency response of the mid woofer so it's as true to source as he saw possible. That is an innovation that we cannot build ourselves at home. It took him years to get it where he wanted. The tweeters are not off the shelf either, the design has been around for some decades but it's difficult to work with. He used 1 resistor on the tweeters to cut low frequency, that's it. Again, we cannot replicate his design.
Tekton Design uses off the shelf parts also except for the some tweaks to the tweeter array. He owns multiple patents on that tweeter array. Again, we cannot build and replicate his design. The tweeter array actually covers a large frequency range, larger than any other brand I know of. It is an innovative and patented design.
The Linkwitz DIY speakers are an interesting design that I've been wanting to try, simply because Linkwitz is a legend in sound and speaker systems.

IMO. Once you get to $10,000 and beyond you are basically being overly critical in sound. There really is no best speakers, because there are so many out there. Find what sounds good to you. Always use a quality amplifier and take your time finding that sweet spot. The holographic 3D sound created by a properly tuned stereo setup defies what the brain is looking at. I've been impressed by a lot of brands but who can afford it? Not me that's for sure.

Whats your drop tank process? Do you start with the pins? Or, prop the tank and go directly to the bracket screw removal?

Speaking from the angle of someone doing this in their driveway without the bed removed.

Borrowed Fluke 87 multimeter from work this weekend. Found pinout, and resistance values for MAF. New one in specc'd range.

I am tired, so only checked one injector. Range on injector specs for my truck.
    13.4-14.2 ohms.

New injector was 14.4 to 14.6 ohms. Cause for concern? @empty_lord?

I know you like Toyota truck trivia: the 2000 model box metal was double the thickness of the other 1st gens that came after that. The guy that told me that worked on the design. I didn't ask if he meant only the interior walls and bed, or if that also meant the bedsides. I imagine just inner fenders and bed.

    Wouldn’t surprise me.

I still need to make the drive down there and do the tour. (And pickup those running boards my father ever so much)

It’s hotter out lately. The spec is usually at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Resistance will go up when hot. Also, check the resistance of your leads. That also plays a roll in your reading. Personally I wouldn’t worry about it

Filler neck and all the lines you can reach first. Then use a jack and wood or better yet a tank jack to lower it and unplug all the rest of the wires and breathers. On the ground it takes all of an hour typically to remove the tank

When a bush branch end can ding your tailgate you know it's tin.... My bed skin, the inside front wall, just tin. It's one of the reasons I just bring myself to buy new, so much money for something designed to wear out.

So sorry. Do the tank patch mentioned & pursue insurance angle. could be vandalism, could be you ran over a metal bar that flipped up & punched the tank. Certainly worth a chat w/ the insurance co, just in case.
I've had JB Weld patches last years. modern chemistry is really quite amazing & effective.
You'll be okay & cudo's to you on the Sunday wrenching.

@empty_lord Ive been meaning to ask, Is there any common issues to cause a steering wheel to have a slight click feeling when pushing and pulling on the top and bottom of the steering wheel? Ive have this for awhile and the steering wheel isnt loose, it does give a faint click feeling.

@Professional Hand Model To clean the air filter radiator behind the glove box, Do I just remove the interior blower fan and glove box?

Yes. Remove the glove box two bottom screws and pinch the sides and pull the box out. Remove blower (3) screws and unplug. Remove the resistor and unplug. The resistor hole is your spy hole. You stick hose gun up in blower hole and lightly spray the coils with short bursts. Keep inspecting until clean.

Its the heater coil and not a filter that you will be cleaning.

They're called pasteles and are a staple in Puerto Rican households, especially around the holidays. I didn't like to help to prepare them as a kid because it was a lot of work and kinda messy but damn I sure loved eating them. Looks like you're in CT, I know there are decent sized PR communities in Bridgeport and Hartford so it shouldn't be too hard to find a restaurant that has them although they may be seasonal. Here in AZ if I want pasteles, or any good PR food it's at least a 65-70 mile round trip to the few good spots I've found around Phoenix. Check the reviews in your area because like anything else, not everyone knows how to make food like grandma did! Also if you can find it, give an alcapurria a try, that's my all time favorite. My mouth is watering and I'm almost shedding a tear thinking about it! :hungry:
