This is what the Stealership spit out for the Rav. It was pulling to the right pretty hard. Seems to be fixed now.

Would rear tow cause that? Their employee pointed out the thrust angle was pretty far off. I'm not familiar with that.

Oh, and they charge $18 for "environmental compliance" on an alignment.

Both rear wheels were pointed slightly left.

It'd make your steering wheel off-center but shouldn't actually pull. Most confuse the feeling of a pull vs holding a wheel off-center.

My driver-side Outer CV Boot has been split and has been slinging grease for about a week. I just went ahead and ordered 2 new boots to replace both sides, but I wanted to get some input if necessary on this. Many places online say to replace the entire axle if this occurs, but they also mention that if no other issues are occurring, then it should be fine. Being that there's no noise or interference whatsoever when driving, turning, etc. I don't think I need to replace the entire axle. Let me know if I am being a cheapo about this, or if just the two outer boots shall be enough :D

The axle is likely fine. Rebooting them isn't too bad, it's just messy. You can get a boot kit for $47 from Toyota (P/N 04438-0C020). Re-manufactured axles usually aren't too much more, usually $80 + $75 core (43430-0C010-84). It's a matter of time/ mess vs spending a little bit more money.

My local dealer still has them at $41 + $75 core. It's actually cheaper for me to buy a reman and return the axle with a torn boot than it is to buy a reboot kit. I'd shop around and look for dealers in your area that have the reman for cheap.

Nope. We have trash pickup and hazmat recycle days but they’ve been lax on posting the dates. Then after a while when I goto look it up, I typically miss it.

When I bought my F250, I drove to the dealer in my Z3, got all the buying done, left - drove to Uhaul, picked up a car dolly with the Z3, brought it back to the dealer, hooked the trailer to the F250, put the Z3 on the dolly & drove it all home. Saved the friend favor for another day.

Skid row skid plate has to come off for engine oil and filter change? True or false?

False. If anything, the Skid Row plates made it easier. I can now access the filter from the side and the oil pan skid has an access hole. I attach a hose to my Fumoto valve and drain through that. It might make a mess if you tried it without a Fumoto though.

Anyone ever use this stuff? I picked it up on a whim recently but haven’t gotten to trying it on anything specific. I do have an absolutely rotten seal* to test it on though.

My dad uses it on his Z3 and it works really well to keep the seals plump and sealing well, especially where the convertible top meets the top of the windshield. He had some leaks long ago when the car was newer, it made them stop and haven’t come back with semi annual applications.

Just tried to buy some new doors for my poor deer damaged truck. The guy here in AR with the 5 Tundras he’s parting out. Same color as mine and everything. He literally just sold the entire truck. :annoyed:

I've been subpoenaed. The dude who stole my ninja last year is going to trial on Dec 4th, and they want me to testify. I have to go talk to the DA sometime before then and fill out a victim impact form. Kinda nice being on the giving end of the court system for once. I hope they hit this guy with max charges. Fuck a thief.

75% chance he’ll plea out the day-of court, if you show up. The system doesn’t like giving victims a voice if they know they can get a quick win, so the system is catered towards plea bargaining. It’s all money to them - save money on the procession, and make money on the criminal = win-win. They don’t care if you’re guilty or innocent, they just want to reach a plea bargain to avoid the trial procession, and they punish you with 2x+ sentence if you try to fight the charge. That MFer knows he’s guilty though, and can’t prove otherwise beyond a reasonable doubt so he will cop a plea.

But if you go in, and they talk to you pre-trial, be very clear about what you want to see him get, i.e. jail time, restitution, probation, drug rehab, this kind of stuff. No guarantee you’ll get it, and if you’re over the top (like, “15 years in pound-you-in-the-ass prison! And a good lynching after!!”) they may just ignore your ass. Be ready. Ask what’s reasonable, and push a little beyond what’s reasonable. You may get it.

This is what I’m hoping for. I’m going to try it on my cab-to-door seals. Seems the AC trucks have an issue with the seal around the rear door toward the corner closest to the 3rd brake light. I think that’s where my wind noise is originating, not the wing window. But I’m gonna hit the wing windows too.

Wait, you live in Arizona? ;)

    (or is that Montana again?)

Best thing to do is sob-story it if you do get the chance to speak out.

Make every comment dripping with sadness, “Like, man, I bust my ass 60-80 hours a week doing blue collar work nobody else wants to do to be able to afford the one thing in life I enjoy - riding my motorcycle. This guy didn’t just steal a ‘thing’, a motorcycle… this guy stole the one thing in life that gives me a sense of freedom and escape, that justifies why I wake up and do what I do 6, sometimes 7 days a week…”

Might get awkward when the defense cross-examines… “So, Mr. BMF, what did you do with Lucille after you got her back?”

“I traded her ass in on a new Aprilia!”

Wrong gen, correct spirit. Though at some point I must ask: At what point does it stop being a Tundra? I personally feel like once you ditch more than 50% of the OEM frame and body it stops being what it was...

I had to remove my passengers wing window and adjust (Bend) a hinge because of wind noise.
Wasn't too bad of an operation once you learn how the door panel comes off.
Quiet as can be in the cab now. You wonder how that happens, like was someone tweaking (on it) or what?

That was literally one of the first things I thought, what can I say to get this dude sent to "federal pound me in the ass prison".

    Ill be there.

Yeah, that thought went through my head too.

"I was so distraught after, I didn't know what to do."
"You bought a new Aprilia 3 weeks later."
    ".......oh yeah. I did."
